I was lucky enough as my good friends booked a couple of his early gigs in Italy and from then on we saw them a bunch of times and often got a chance to hang - genuinely lovely people.
I actually got my memory tangled up as Alfredo Hernandez was never in the band, but he was there once as they were touring with Mondo Generator, except they had a fallout the night before in Germany, so MG didn't play but Alfredo was still there. Their drummer used to be a guy called Mike who went on to form a band called Biblical Proof of UFOs. He dropped by my hometown while travelling in Europe on the night Italy defeated Germany in the 2006 world cup semi final and we ended up hanging out and soaking in the post football buzz. Great times!
@Dooks-Fatberg my recommendation would be Jalamanta and if you play one song only make it Automatic Fantastic. The smoothness @edmundro speaks of will reveal itself in spades.

Cool story bro!
I lose track of members of bands in that scene, feel like everyone is fairly interchangeable and that Brant, Alfredo and Ruban Romano have been in all of them at some point.
I have online guitar lessons with Bob from Fu Manchu, the biggest head fuck is realising he’s also in a band called Sun and Sail Club which features both Scott Reeders’
Met Nick Oliveri recently when he did his Death Acoustic show in Walthamstow of all places. Bit of a fruitcake.Listening to Jalamanta in the workshop today. Damn groovy.
That’s probably the coolest story I’ve heard in a while. Brant is a fucking dude. Quite possibly the coolest guy in the music industry.
Last time I saw him play maybe 2022? was some double cut Ibanez thing.
This is the guitar I have seen him play live the most. In those tutorial vids he’s straight into the Marshall and it’s sounds so fuckin’ smooth.
@Sparky nice one! I think I’ll save for another month or so and we’ll do the whole thing in one hit :)
