  • Marin bikes have such a cult following and with all the projects floating around, lets start a space for all things MARIN COUNTY BIKES!

Lets start off with my builds and then onto others!

Now some of my internet / forum favorites:

  • I'd have killed for a 1998 Palisades Trail when I was younger. They lost their charm after that, but the more recent ones have started to turn my head. I wouldn't say no to an Alpine Trail, perhaps mostly guided by nostalgia

  • Here is mine, a 1993 Team Marin intended as a functional commuter/do-it-all bike.

Really like how it rides with the stem/bar combo, been thinking of getting a Stridsland fork but probably will keep it as is.

  • This was the bike that made me try moon cruiser bars and I will never look back.

  • I just can't believe it took you this long to make this thread.

  • This is my Eldridge Grade in a Euro colour way.

  • I remember seeing Marins range in lbs in the 90s I think they were the precursor to the current minimal heat treated finishes using anodising and metallic adhesives. A ground breaking aesthetic imo ahead of it's time. Especially when displayed in the right show room.

  • Here’s my old 96 Marin Monocoque, Zee drivetrain, XT brakes and amp fork. Was way too small for me so gave it to a good friend that wanted to start riding for exercise (he had a Dutch bike for groceries etc). Due to health problems haven’t seen him in 9 months, saw him shining in the sun a mile off. He’s been doing 40 miles on and off road 5 days a week, he finally want faster tires.

  • That's an incredibly esoteric build, but it work's so well. Amazing how good that fork still looks. I've never riden one. Always was curious.

  • This is amazing. Saw one second hand in a bike shop a few years ago (probably 10 actually...) but didn't have the space for it.
    Much regret!

  • This is so rad! Love the forks

  • Here's one of mine. I should take proper pics of the rest as well.

  • Nice. How are you tensioning the chain on this?

  • I have a few that I use, and I have repaired and moved on a few more.
1994 Bear Valley SE with upgraded but similar period group. Now has a front rack and Wald basket.
1995 Team Marin with mainly original group and parts. Use on forest trails.
2 x 1990 Palisades Trails - one orange, one neon. To be fixed up. Orange one will be donated to local bike co-op, neon one fitted with some modern parts and used.
    1995 Muirwoods -sold on
    1995 Eldridge Grade - sold
Also have a 1986 Madrone Trail frameset, which is far too small for me but might make a nice pub bike for my wife.

  • Magic gear. I don't ride this bike much so I expect it to last years haha.

  • That 95 team marin is a dream! I can only hope to own one in that size one day.

  • I have this one?
