  • Ah cool, will give it a look.

Funnily enough Endura have just released a jumper, but it's got a horrible logo along the front.

  • Who about this MAAP jumper?

  • anyone want to give/sell me their old down jacket? needs to be large, and one that is light and packs down to pretty small. i know there was a rush on the uniqlo ones about 10 years ago, anyone got theirs still?
I just came from a wet tour down the Rhine and have been very happy with the Alpkit waterproof I bought with me. It’s one of their new ones, very light and as waterproof as I think anyone could want. Also suits mtbing in that it isn’t race cut and has a useful hood

  • Drop bars or flats/risers? If the latter, I love my Sealskinz lobster gloves. They're a nightmare with drops and hoods though.

  • I just bought a new with tags down jacket on ebay and it's a bit large for me, so I'd be happy to move it on if it fits what you're after?

CMF Outdoor Garment Puff Hooded Down Jacket, in dark blue, RRP £375 . It's size medium, but 21.5 inch pit to pit and wears like a large. It has a built in stuff sack, weighs 600g, taped zip seams. A very nice quality jacket that's new. I'd like back what I paid so £100.

  • I could be interested in this if the OP doesn’t take it.

  • for cold days i really rate castelli spettacolo gloves which i wear with v thin altura merino liners - v warm but still relatively dextrous - and the zip makes them super easy to get on and off, esp with liners, so no swearing by the side of a cold damp road somewhere while you struggle to get your gloves on again...

  • Castelli tutto nano are my go to - warm and also water beads off them well.

My second castelli recommendation despite being mostly a rapha wearer...

  • OK great, I'll let you know later what they decide

  • Not exactly winter clothing but I'm looking for a lightweight waterproof that will keep me pretty dry but isn't boil in the bag (I run hot). Not a skinny fit which a load of lighter stuff seems to be.

Basically for days like today where it's raining on and off but still warm. Doesn't need to be cycling specific, will probably end up getting more use off the bike. Cheers

  • The only thing coming close to that was the Shakedry material. Even that is not perfect when it's humid.

  • How much like a jumper? Belated but this seems a pretty good deal with the extra 20% off code

Long sleeve wicking t-shirt would probably do the job better.

Suspect a thin windproof would be best and just accept it'll wet out in anything more than a quick shower.

  • I think the 7 mesh thing I bought in the sale last year might suit. It’s infinium with taped seams so not a true waterproof but will deal with showers, it’s cut for gravel/mtb and has these odd sloped pockets on the back, not worn it loads but I quite like it. Also bought a similar polartec alpha jacket by them which is becoming a favourite item to have on the bike or for walking as a lightweight wind/warm layer.

One is called Cypress, the other Freeflow, can’t remember which is which.

  • That looks like a really nice jacket but is too much for me, in terms of bulk, features and, I assume, weight. I'm just looking for a 200g thing to wear on stops, no need for clever outer layer, pockets etc.

  • Look on eBay or similar for anything > 800 down fill from any big outdoor brand. Or get a decathlon quecha one.

  • Any suggestions on good merino socks that are warm but not too thick? I always wore Pongo socks but they are no longer with us, their merino socks were just perfect!

  • didn’t they rebrand as Bissini?

  • They did. But Bissini recently announced that they are closing down.

  • I just ordered these (new planet x) and they seem good, the upper of the foot is a lighter material which adds a bit of breathability. They're a merino blend - 56% merino.

  • Darn tough

Yeah, you're right, too many companies are closing down.

  • Hello!
last year I bought the Thermal Cargo Bib Tights from Victory Chimp and I very much love them. I'm now on the quest of finding similar priced (around 150eur max) short thermal bibs with cargo pockets but beside Le Col one's, I cannot really find any alternative (these are above budget and I'd love to have back pockets as well)
Anyone knows if there are other similar/better products?

  • Wear normal bibs with some polartec powerstreach fleece leggings over them?
