  • The Pope has waded in. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crkdmdg78jgo He says Trump is 'against life' because he wants to deport immigrants. And Kamala is against life for the obvious reason. So voters must choose "the lesser evil. Who is the lesser evil? That lady, or that gentleman? I don't know."

So every vote will be an evil act. Maybe not voting is better? Er, no. "Not voting is ugly. It is not good. You must vote." So every American will choose evil on election day. Maybe he's predicting damnation and apocalypse and all that?

  • If ever there was a fucking election where there’s a clearly greater evil… Not that whatever the church says should have any real relevance anymore, but holy fuck man, one candidate is sin incarnate and the other is a hardworking liberal woman prosecutor. They’re both politicians but one is clearly a much worse human being with a much more ‘sinful’ agenda, just fucking grow a spine and recognise that shit or stfu (, Pope).

  • It gets complicated when you remember that Uncle Sam is the Great Satan, and Harris will prolong the imperial hegemony while TRE45ON will hasten its downfall...

But then again that doesn't count for shit when you remember the other imperial hegemonies vying for number one spot...

Fucken dicks everywhere. Maybe us genocide monkeys should just hurry up and fuck off entirely

  • God made man, but he used the monkey to do it.

  • third time lucky ?

  • I say it’s all just wind in sails

  • Trump's assassin had two backpacks full of ceramic tiles.

  • Correction: not ceramic tiles plural, but a ceramic plate of the type used in a bulletproof vest.

  • 'Failed assassin' in case someone reads this and their heart skips skips a beat.

  • 'Failed assassin with no camouflage skills'. Sounds like he had a good opportunity but blew it.

  • The stream of frankly surreal news stories about Mark Robinson just doesn't stop. Where does Trump find these lunatics?

  • This is very worrying. Voters in Arizona trust Trump on immigration and across these swing states they believe their lives improved last time Trump was president.

  • That's fuckin ace man

  • What the hell difference indeed.

People have been spinning out on his transcripts the whole time, but I gather it's a different effect watching him talk (as a nuerodivergent I have to take others' word for it because I pay most heed to the actual words employed, and add the nonverbal stuff on top as modifier - crazy, I know).

He's a consummate rube hypnotiser; the runs are on the board. Deserves all the credence of scorpion on smack, yet they line up from miles around to eat from his hand...

  • He’s doing the weave again, right?

  • Are you talking about his hair?

  • Wait, serious question, is this

(as a nuerodivergent I have to take others' word for it because I pay most heed to the actual words employed, and add the nonverbal stuff on top as modifier - crazy, I know).

    Not what everyone does?

  • It's not the same, but it's in the same vein as this.

You take all the words as a body and then turn the volume down on the modifiers, then comprehend the jhist.

My dad loves a tangent and inconsequential and unnecessary details, so maybe it's just me.

On Trump though, I'd love to hear a sample of rally attendees summarise Trumps key messages. Would it be anything he actually said in the rally? Or would it be their imposed view?

  • So they just have a great day out, nod and cheer, and then decide he said whatever they wanted him to say? Wild.

  • Idk for sure, but I wonder.

If you think about his lack of consistency most people can probably find something he's said they agree with.

Ultimately his skill is connecting with people and stirring emotions.

Also projecting your bias and opinions onto others is quite common. For some celebs it's quite useful - e.g. Beckham, Queen Elizabeth II.

  • Oprah

I have a lot of disrespect for this woman. She’s the billionaire head and friendly face of an entertainment corporation that peddled so much bullshit to stay-home Americans under the guise of harmless entertainment and free speech that she likely moved the dial towards post-truth. Vaccines causing autism, panic about drugs and weird sex cults, Dr Phil and his ilk, decades of bullshit.

Her huge personal struggles aside, the woman was close personal friends with Harvey Weinstein, and while there’s no evidence that she ever pimped vulnerable children for him, she never did an exposé on the swine either. She’ll never be held to account for her silence, either.
