You delete individual courses or you plug it into a PC and delete all the fit files in the Courses folder.
I don't know how Strava sync works, but with RWGPS, it will only sync routes to the Garmin which you have Pinned. So you can create 20 routes, finalise on one and then Pin it to have it shipped to the Garmin.
Sounds like maybe you should look for sync options within Strava.

I have literally just connected a Strava account to Garmin and yes 'sync courses' is an option alongside 'sync activities' which is required.
Fiddling with Strava now, I can't see how you change that - you may need to revoke and reconnect Garmin.

How do I remove courses synced to my garmin? (without manually deleting)
Currently when I create a route in strava it automatically syncs as a course onto my garmin (810). If I then delete the course on strava, it doesnt delete on the Garmin. Is it possible to do that? Currently I have to delete the course in two places after a ride.
