• Wow! At that price my offering isn't very attractive!

Kind of based the price on half of what I found on eBay... didn't study in very much depth I admit.

For reference, here's an idea of the cost of the Alessi(s) new. What I remember paying for the large one at least, bought the small one in Italy and I think it was a bit cheaper (round 60 euros)

Anyway, sound like I should drop the price: £60 + postage?

  • Apologies, I wasn't trying to dismiss your listing, I was trying to help out anyone who was looking for one that would work with an induction hob. I think I struck gold with being in the right place at the right time when Lidl was trying to shift some old stock!

I know how these things get out of hand, I am up to three now after my recent Lidl purchase!!

I am very happy with the aluminum versions (which are apparently better because of the heat transfer properties of alu compared to SS) but I am changing hob soon and grabbed the SS version at a bargain price.

Not at all, I didn't take it in that way :)
Good to know what's around. The Lidle model you know looks very similar to the Bialetti Venus.
Re heat transfer, I read somewhere that when possible it's good to pre-boil the water before and I do that now. Supposed to reduce the time coffee is heated before water gets through it...
