  • AJ's had the same problem through his career - it just gets more pronounced against better opponents and harder punchers. Once he's hit hard he loses shape and his defensive instincts desert him - he doesn't grab and hold, he doesn't cover up properly, he's just there to be hit again. It's different to not being able to take a punch, Bruno was the same - they have the same body type.

My mate is Dubois' lawyer and his team apparently knew they had this one for weeks. Possibly just talk, but he backed it up.

  • I always thought with Bruno it wasn't about when he was hit, but more about when he was gassed - also a problem with that body type.

Is everyone fired up for Saturday? I'm giving Beterbiev the edge, but only because there's more at stake for him (and the clock's ticking). Decent undercard too...

  • Spot on, Mark. I’ve often thought of AJ as a modern day Bruno. In more ways than one.

He needs to have another one or two fights, finish on a high (I doubt a belt, but a decent win would be good) and retire. Before it goes any more pear-shaped, which it will for him.
