Your UAE/Movistar simile falls down slightly if only because UAE minus Pog have 51 wins in 2024.
Movistar have 8. Movistar with Pog would have 30.

You're absolutely right as ever. I should've just said that Movistar failed to win a stage In their national tour, Kern Pharma won 3. Valverde's pharmacy bill would have bankrupted Kern, let alone his hair replacement addiction...

Davide Formolo finished second, behind Mauri Vansevenant, at the Tour of Luxembourg today, but was subsequently disqualified for using the supertuck position on the final descent.

Good. They heard me shouting at the telly then. (I’m a Formolo fan and a supertuck fan, but rules are there for everyone.)
Hirschi should have also for resting forearms on the bars, to get an advantage over MvdP.

Agreed …. can we now talk about the time trialing from Zurich… ? !
Blimey , must be a quiet day …
Quite enjoyed the womens race - close timings and pleased ( Hippy ) that Grace Brown won … pretty good year for her ! shame the jersey won’t be seen in competition next year though ….
Great the BBC are showing all riders setting off -

No spoilers please. The BBC coverage has Ellen van Dijk sitting in the golden chair.

Would Ganna have won if he'd had the monstrous Aerohead 2 helmet?
-
• #51417
No is the short answer, despite manufacturers claims it (probably) wouldn't have helped enough, if at all.
Under the tutelage and testing regime of Bigham his kit is going to be optimised to a miniscule degree. I suspect Bigham would amputate his own testicles if he thought it would save 2W.

this is wild. He does sort of caveat it though saying that's on climbs, on the flat he's closer to 300. Also 1800 vam for 15 minutes.
The interesting part for me was him talking about race simulations - finding similar climbs and just repeating them at race pace. And almost nothing indoors. Suppose that's easier if you live in Monaco but he definitely has an interesting approach.

Bigham could have only optimised within the 3-4 Kask helmet options, sizes, visor combinations etc. The Giro might 10w faster but he can't wear it. So the short answer is maybe.
Specific to Ganna, he moves his quite head a lot so what's fastest on him isn't likely to be the perfect tunnel tested option in any case, but that'll be factored into the final choice.

The Giro might 10w faster but he can't wear it.
Why wouldn't Bigham (and Ganna for that matter) be able to wear the Giro? Surely the Kask contracts don't prevent them if they really want an exception made?

Another question might be how much more Evenepoel would have won by if his team had Giro as a sponsor? Or possibly why didn't a Giro sponsored rider win by 15 seconds instead of losing by 55? Or even, how long is a piece of string?

A rider in the women’s junior Worlds , Muriel Furrer, road race died after crashing on Thursday and suffering serious head injuries. RIP.

A Zurich local as well, she lived in Egg which is just off the road race course. What a tragic waste of life.

This race makes me want to put the heating on.
Have you had any luck getting your therapy appointments bumped up to twice a week?
