Is it just a Go Pro mount bolted on? @ltc
yup!
What are the mudguards? @hugo7
PDW 45s
The only tricky bit is getting the right length m3 screws to minimise fouling the tyre (can always cut some down too).
GoPro mount, here are a few links (UK or China), even come in silver for matchyness.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305721317843Added a layer of 3M 8671HS tape for protection/vibration under the mount as PDW seem to do this with all the other fittings.
M3 nylon nuts

Pictured is from MagCAD, also recommend Cat3bits

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294953997887Think I'd avoid the Exposure version, far too easy for someone to nick at traffic lights.
Could have perphaps gone a little lower. Could go real low too and use as a secondary light to illuminate the road red.

Grrr,
I decided to get ahead of the incoming weather and ordered a set of VO hammered for the winter, ten days ago.
Stupidly I didn't notice the huge banner on the freshtripe home page announcing their annual holiday and that orders would not be dispatched until September 30th.
Looks out window at endless rain....
Grrrr.

that truly is beautiful. i know i would be the envy of the cycling club on our winter rides with that... will weigh up the costs (i dont have an exposure rear light atm)

Ha! I ordered VO stainless last week and also didn't see the banner because I jumped straight
from Google to the product page. -

Have been down a google hole trying to find cheaper secondary lights that work with a GoPro mount but back to looking at a 2nd TraceR or even BoostR.. but suspect a regular TraceR Mk3 (non-Reakt) is the way.

Looks like room for an ass saver on that saddle...

Shit, you’re right.

Not sure what that downtube one is protecting, belly button?

I think you’re forgetting the forward motion.
Taking that into consideration the blue line coming from the front wheel should hopefully not extend much higher than where the one on the seattube starts. Belly button should be safe.
Do concur that my armpits / upper chest could be in trouble tho.
Given lack of mounts on the front fork, anyone got any better suggestions than a speed rocker?
Also don’t want metal guards, too heavy.

Cute.
I love how gopro mounts have become the bodge/hack industry standard. All without the EU getting involved to force one.

So tried fitting guards using that before. The stays had to be cut to size, and then ultimately the screw didn’t hold them securely anyway. Was a disaster and not a route I’m going down again.

Did you use threadlock? Crush washer could help too. But you always need threadlock everywhere.
Here are some other ideas (see winter bike thread)

Thanks for that, ordered the mount and holder as have the rest.
Excited!

Just took delivery of 30mm pdw full metal mudguards and 28mm contis for my van Nicholas Yukon.
Mudguards look v skinny but don’t think the 38mm will fit. Going to install on Sunday and see but think I should have measured properly on weds night before late night online ordering!

Fwiw although I think PDW say max 25mm tyres, I ran a similar combo (28mm conti 4 seasons) for years with no problems. My LBS fitted them though, so no idea how much fettling was needed to set them up!

Yeah, think it may be a ball ache but doable . I’d run 28s on the stock guards that came with the bike but they died and didn’t think the pdw 38s would squeeze into the front forks.
Fortunately the weather is lovely so fitting the new ones will be a joy in the outdoors!

The pdws are generous in their wrap, so you can get away with wider tyres a bit for sure.

Does anyone have experience of Giant speedshield-rgx mudguards? I've just got a Contend AR and these are the recommended guards to fit but reviews on line are mixed.

I fitted SKS Bluemels on my Contend some time ago, and they were pretty much perfect. This was a Contend SL but 30mm measured tires and mudguards fit comfortably. Tried and trusted!
Very neat.
Also awaiting parts list.
