The stack on the Bostons was getting pretty high but the last couple of versions they have dialed it back a little. I've had a few pairs of Mizuno with Goodyear outsoles which last forever but are nowhere near as good as the Continental in the wet. I found Saucony Fast twitch particularly grippy as well as both my Altra Escalates very grippy but because the ones I had were mesh or knit I did get wet feet
