Very nice would that fit a 6ft person?
-
• #3
I'm 6"2' so probably, might need a shorter stem though.

Nice bike. Fixed only on that rear hub I'm guessing?
-
• #5
Am pretty sure the Surly Ultra hubs are either fixed or free on one side only, the other obviously housing the disc rotor.
Could you use a lockring with a freewheel same as a the fixed cog?

That is an ultimate commuter bike.
Would bang if I needed one

That's a belter for 300 big ones.
Actually don't mind the pink tape either. -

Eeeeesh, if only this came up in like two weeks once I’ve got on with selling my road bike.
PM coming anyway
-
• #9
Yep this is cool
-
• #10
I had a Miche hub single side fixed, and ran it with a freewheel no problem, I know it’s frowned upon as there’s less thread to screw it on to

It's this still available? If so, could one run this with 700c wheels? And if if so so, what sort of tyre clearance would you get?
-
• #15
Interested in wheels if you're not :)

• #16
Lovely. I need a bike like this in my life.

• #17
What is Reynolds 666 tubing btw?
-
• #18
It's heat treated in Hell.

Is this available?

Sold
Parting ways with faithful commuter. I should convert this to flat bar to help with the fit issues I've always ignored (long legs short arms but too lazy to switch to a short stem) but work have finally moved office to one with lockers and showers so the need for a sensible bike with a rack are diminishing.
I bought the frame off eBay a number of years ago, it was a custom paintjob (the Reynolds sticker joke was not mine!) and I built it up with a set of wheels off here and basic finishing kit. The horrible Fizik pink bar tape has held up suprisingly well. With wide tyres and guards it's a really smooth ride and requires very little maintenance other than pads and replacing the chain every few years. I had previously run with both front and rear racks but settled with just the BLB on the front. Never used the dynamo in the end, was assured the SP hub worked when I bought but haven't the means to test I'm afraid. Since photos have sorted the rear mudguard with an actual SKS clip. Horribly bungy cords will be removed...

The Bad
All in a really bombproof setup that has got me in and out of town 2-3 times a week with very little complaint. Looking for £300 collected in E17 but can meet central if that helps. No posting sorry.
