• Happy New Year all!

Now using my 'winterized' CAAD12 for commuting so my old commuter is up for grabs. Based on an Orbit Tri 650 framset (531C main tubing), with some Spinergy 650c wheels and a bit of a mish mash of parts. Quite an efficient bike for commuting and in good condition (the frameset is well used, but with no major issues, but the wheels were pretty much new when I got them and I haven't put that many miles on them). Details as follows:

    Frameset - Orbit Tri 650 (531C main tubing) - 54cm c-c seat tube and 56cm c-c top tube - in purple
Wheels - Sprinergy PBO 650c with blue spokes - Continental GP4000 tyres (rear has a puncrure, nbut I will replace the inner tube before pick up)
Cranks - Kuota Carbon ISIS drive (with superlight ISIS bottom bracket)
Chain ring - old school BMX 44t (with Gusset DoubleSix 18t cog on the back)
    Callipers - Campagnolo
Brake Levers - Tektro RX5.0 carbon TT
Stem - Cinelli XA (100mm I think, but will check)
    Handlebars - BLB Prsuit Bullhorn
    Seatpost - unbranded Chinese carbon
    Saddle - Specialized Power Expert
    No pedals

I think that's everything, but any q's just let me know. Looking for £195 (let me know if I'm way out, but that would be less than half what it cost me to build up). Pick up from SW4 (evening/weekends), or I might be able to ride it to work (WC1X) for a lunchtime pick up. Cheers

  • Perhaps no the best time to sell stuff! Dropping the price to £175 - happy to look at reasonable offers if that's still too high (if no interest I may just stick it on eBay, but I'd rather not!)

  • Bump for a final price drop to £150 (to save me from putting it on eBay!)

  • Moving this to eBay (but will honour £150 on here if anyone is interested)

  • Hey quite interested, just wondering why it has 650c wheels just never really seen them on a single speed :)

  • The frame and fork are for 650c wheels (it was originally for triathlons). I converted it to a singlespeed myself for commuting purposes (it has semi-horizontal rear dropouts so you can get the chain tension without a tensioner)

  • Nice I see, is it still available? would like to test it out before I buy, is that ok?

  • It's on eBay, but will honour the price on here. Just message me and we can sort something out.

  • Resurrecting this at the bargain bucket price of £100 (trying to make space!)!

I have also replaced the inner tube so it's good to go (I have a spare 650c inner tube as well)

  • Just messaged, very interested to come and have a look!

  • Still available!

  • Resurrecting this as I need to make space!

    Changes to original spec above:

Changed bars to gold Nitto B259 risers
Removed brake levers & callipers (& bar tape)
It comes with security skewers (& the key!)

All at the low, low price of £65! Pick up from SW4 (evenings/weekends).

  • Hey! Is this still available? I live in SW4 as well.

  • Yep, still available!

  • Still available (knocking a fiver off for a bump)!

  • Interesting bike. Easy to convert back to a standard cassette if needed? What sort of max tyre clearance does it have?

  • Yes, an easy conversion (the rear wheel is a freehold - 11 speed, I think - it just has a single cog with spacers on it at the moment). The current tyres are 23c and you should be able to fit 25c (I doubt it will take much more as it was originally designed as a triathlon frame)

  • It's 60 quid. Easy enough to get another rear wheel for gears and still have a cheap bike.

  • So that would fit someone 1m 82? Headtube looks massive for a 54 but the wheels I suppose, running a freewheel? Breaks would be nice to be on the safe side

  • I'm 1.79 for reference. It does look a bit bigger than a 54 (but I did double check the measurements) - might be due to the smaller wheels.
You will definitely need front and rear brakes to take it on the road (legally) .

  • Doesn't even need a new rear wheel to convert to gears!

  • PM sent

  • Even better, also if I had the space I would buy this at that price. Can I pay you and you hold it for me to march as it will give me time to get rid of bikes and make space.

It is a very cheap bike, and amazed it is still for sale.

  • Sold (pending pick up!)
