  • I sold @Skülly my Aero Letterman jacket before I left the UK, can't believe how expensive their stuff has got since back then. Those 101-Z look all kinds of weird to me, not a fan.

  • Ignore that, I bought that jacket twenty years ago. Tempus fugit. 👴

  • Cheers, Canada West Moorbys, local to me!

  • Further to, I talked to Lee and they tell me that these were mis-tagged, since no more in this size are available I’m going to take them to a tailor and have them brought in to spec.
After receiving pics from me, they’re apparently going to send a refund…

  • I remember fondling Aero horsehide jackets in Camden market and another spot on Oxford Street in early 90's and they were £2-300-ish I think so thats something like £650 today just on inflation, but £900+ = yikes!

  • Resoled with black Christys?

  • That fit looks great on you. Weird on the sizing thing though. So these should be a 34"?

  • Close, the Morflex option.

  • Thanks, even after a hot soak there's more than an inch extra on the waist.
Just got a confirmation from Lee about the mistagging, will receive refund and am free to get them tailored.

  • Lmk if any of u denim dawgs r interest.

  • Can't really complain with that can you.

  • Definitely okay with how it's working out.

  • Read rumors that the cotton is from Xingjian so could be forced labour. Just redit reviews .
some times they produce items with denim from Japan.
Can recommend Hawksmill denim UK design produced in Europe and UK.
    But price reflects this.

  • My wool/horse hide Letterman was £175, which I thought was very cheap at the time for a custom jacket. More people are into this kind of stuff now, so supply and demand I guess. Aero was a very small operation, I know they had a change of ownership in the 2000s and there were some quality issues around that time, not sure what the go is now.

@Chalfie I did a quick search on AliExpress as you piqued my interest, lovely Bob Dong Blue Bell repro jacket on there and some nice type l/ll jackets. They need more pics to satisfy the more fastidious denim nerds out there. I was having a quick look for black selvage denim jackets but not much to see.

I really want a black Lee Cowboy jacket, can't bring myself to dye my 90s MIJ one. Even a Type l/ll would do me.

  • I got a filthy cheap Levis Type 1 from the USA range made with really neppy/fluffy Chinese cotton/hemp selvedge for £60 from someone on Insta, they are only $98

    https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/clothing/men/outerwear/type-i-trucker-jacket/p/A31740002

  • Dang. I've never seen that. Significantly better value than the $405 LVC Type 1. Where the product listing contains zero information about the source of denim or place of manufacture.... May just have to order one.

  • I cut all the tags off mine as there were about 20 of them in two stacks of 10. Worse than Decathlon.

And the pocket tag is Big E too

Colour is "Roll Up Selvedge Trucker - Dark Wash"

  • Ugh. Had it in my cart with a 20% discount but then remembered that this month I've already bought a pair of Red Wings, an Iron Heart UHF shirt and a pair of Warehouse's. So not the best time to order something I really don't need. Oh life is so tough sometimes...

  • Going to Japan in a couple of months and a new pair of jeans is on the agenda. Exchange rate is still favourable but I moved money into japanese yen once it tipped over 200:1 so I should be able to get stuff at really reasonable prices :)

  • now im wondering whether to buy some yen.. going in january

  • I'm sure there's heaps of options but i would highly recommend Smart clothing store in Tokyo. Maybe not super boutiquey but they're the main Pherrow's distributor and supply Clutch Cafe. Super nice people and store.

  • Not going to Tokyo this time around will be in Kyoto/Osaka - still plenty of good options!

  • It's still good. Just set up a market order in Revolut

  • Aww @Tenderloin jealous of a trip to Japan Blue jeans in Kyoto is great didn't buy anything when I was there which I regret as the store was so good.
Also I've been craving Japanese hotel breakfasts the best in the world !!
