Other reasons to be paranoid:
Anyone coming in with a burn, abrasion, lasceration, impalment or explosive injury might be an active Hezbollah member, so further attacks are possible (with demonstrated consideration for collateral damage)
Random electronics on patients’ bodies going boom.
Random electronics in the hospital going boom.
Random electronics anywhere going boom.
On this last one, the authors have accomplished one of the biggest hits in psychological warfare in a generation. In recent years only sudden, unexpected terrorist attacks have created this sort of widespread paranoia and concern: every regime from Egypt to Pakistan is now concerned that their kit might blow up at any time, every Islamist group is afraid they might each be carrying personal bombs, and most global intelligence agencies are receiving a deluge of concerned calls from lawmakers about their exposure.
Isn't it more the case that doctors may be heavily reliant on pagers, and thus be likely collateral damage?
