Mostly riding off road but have commuted it on it a few times which is on road. I still get the discomfort there as well.
I think the problem is I've never measured any sort of bike fit. My old road bike was ridiculously comfy so I should have measured that and used it as a starting point.Buy a Lauf

I mean, wrist pain should be pretty easy to fix (he says with a sore wrist from crashing in June)
If it's only happening on the bike then mess around until it's not. What would cause wrist pain? Weird angles of wrist, too much weight on wrist, maybe some other stuff but they're less likely.
Are your legs ok? Does your bum feel like it's in the right spot? Are you feeling like you're sliding forward? Can you let go of the bars while riding on the hoods and not immediately have to catch them again (sign you might be too far forward)?
What can you adjust up front? Bar height? Try a spacer under the bars to lift them and note any impact on the pain. Eyeball the bars - are the levers basically in line with the top of the bars or some hideous variation? Are the levers cocked in or straight? Different size? Do you feel like you're riding on the drops more on this bike or something?
Get someone to take photos so you can see what your "normal" position looks like on it and not what you THINK you look like on it.
I mean, presumably you're riding it off-road? That's going to make use of your wrists a lot more.
But eyeball your setup when you're riding - how bent are you wrists and arms? Do they seem to sit at an angle, etc? How might you fix that? Hard to tell without seeing setup. Oh, also do measurements again - stuff can move, tube angles might be different and if you've measured from a non fixed point you might actually not have installed the bars in the same location.
Do your hands feel sore/pressured or is it just wrist pain?
