B&M Secula still pretty great and cheap.

New light coming from B&M, the IQ-XL Highbeam with 300lux.
-

If you are not based in UK, then IQ-XS. 48€ in Rose for example. Amazing lamp, but it almost double in price while crossing the channel.

I’m waiting for this to arrive soon - it’s a B&M Lumotec Classic which I think tops out at around 30 lux (“over 25” it says online). Dunno if it has a standlight yet which will be my only real selling point, and I imagine yours too. TBC.

Anyone have any experience with bottle dynamos? Not Velogical, as the problem is my budget doesn’t stretch to SON/SP dynamos and they are essentially equivalent price-wise (£100-£200ish). It’s for my Record Ace so ideally just needs to work with 6V/3W lights and be somewhat serviceable and replaceable.

Any pics of it on the bike?

Are you using the threaded holes across as bosses or, do you have any M6 mounting points on the bike?

Just took some pictures this morning

Anyone tried one of these USB dynamo adaptors?

Have just found out I can't get my Igaro D1 warrantied again (after a long history of letting me down nearly every time I was relying on it). So am keen not to spend too much. Plus I only really need it to keep GPS charged if I'm away. -

Anyone got a clue for front light mudguard mount/adaptor? I fancy sticking an edelux up there, near an extra stay, instead of out of fork crown.

You mean something like that?

Supernova makes a similar one.

I am electrically illiterate so would appreciate some advice on setting up my new unbranded front light with an SP hub. Previous lights I've used with the hub have had two wires which go nicely into the SP connector but this light has three wires. Do I ignore one or wrap two together or something?

I'd happily bet that's an ebike headlight and will take unkindly to being connected to a dynamo. Does it have any markings/voltages/etc on it?
The third wire is probably for the horn.

Can't see any info on it. Oh well, cheap gamble hasn't paid off, back to the drawing board then! Thanks for steering me clear

Could be for 'high beam' if it's an ebike light.

Hi there, are you sorted? I have this set up which came on a secondhand bike. No use for it, so available for postage and a coffee?

Oooh, not what I was looking for the bike in question, but will fit another bike for sure! Will drop you a message.

I’ve a supernova E3 triple, it’s probably a bit too wide a beam for road riding given how bright it is. What are the best alternatives?
-
• #4948
Son Edelux or Supernova 'regular' E3 or M99 low beam

This seems amazing although I'm pretty bothered by their bulky plasticky-look once again

Have you looked at used shimano dynamo hubs? Or even full wheels on ebay? If you keep your eye out I can well imagine you'd get a wheel for £50 or something. Eg this plus the train the Milton Keynes
I used to have a shimano dynohub, or possibly a nexus. I think it might have even started the thread. There is obviously more drag than with a SON/SP, but tbh it's perfectly acceptable and better than a bottle would be.
AXA Blueline are my choice.. I prefer them beam on them to the cheap B&M lights
The 50 lux ones are pretty bright.
