  • Spoke to one of the guys in condor who sorted out my sidi dragons they have a box of spares stashed away so take cakes/biscuits.

  • Bit of a cross-post with "eBay bargains" potentially - does anyone have experience of DMT flyknits, or any knitted upper cycling shoes? Look like a good price, but not if your feet squirm about and your big toenial punches a hole in them!

  • I have good experiences with Giro Republic Knit. They're not as sock like as these though. The only issue for me is, if you ride a lot of dusty gravel roads, they get dirty fast, and you can't just wipe them down like you could solid uppers.

As for the toenail hole, I sometimes glue a small inner tube patch inside the shoe, where the toenail would contact the upper. I do this preventatively and it has definitely extended the life of my shoes (I've done it mainly to running shoes and canvas Vans).

  • Appreciate the feedback, thank you

  • How wide are DMT shoes? There are lots of tempting bargains on ebay.

  • There's a heel wedge type thing that came inside my lake cycling shoes under the stock insoles. I use g8 with insoles with form heel wedge on the right foot so not sure I need this lake thing but don't want to discard in case it's useful. It's made of a foam material and sits loose in the shoe. Does anyone know if it's useful? I've just left them on for now and don't seem to be having any issues.

  • Anyone using Quoc escape MTB or gran tourer xc lace ?

  • Also interested in if QUOC 43 is a similar fit to Sidis

  • what's in the £100 white road shoes category?

  • Those dorica that wiggle did.

  • I've had the same pair of Sidi Dragons for years and years but they are finally starting to die. What I liked about them was that most of the parts were replaceable, especially the screw-on walking nobbles on the bottom.

Looking at the current range of Sidi mtb shoes, it seems like only the very expensive Drako and Tiger models have these replaceable soles. I don't really have £400 to spend on commuting shoes.

What's the go-to for long-lasting / replaceable bits / available in half sizes / very narrow-fit MTB commuter shoes these days?

  • SportsPursuit have Sidi on at the moment including about 50% off the more expensive models.

  • Cheers : )

    Is that website legit though?
Prices seem a little tooooo good, and you have to sign-up before you're allowed to browse.

Trustpilot says they're fine but I'd still appreciate the reassurance of total strangers on here before I drop 170 big ones on a pair of weirdly coloured mtb shoes?!

  • Yeah it’s fine. They generally are buying terminal / last season stock direct from manufacturers at heavily discounted rate and selling D2C

  • Cool, thanks.
I'm excited - this is like when I discovered that Bike24 was real

  • Yep, as dariusss said, 100% legit, though I have had some longer shipping times (which is I think where they sell stock from remote warehouses). Nothing to worry about though,
