I'm looking to buy a few portable battery-powered ambient temperature and humidity sensors with displays, but don't want to end up with shit ones that are inaccurate.
What should I be looking for?

I have a few of these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ThermoPro-TP357-Bluetooth-Hygrometer-Thermometer/dp/B093PT1NL1
Temperature is generally within a tenth of a degree of my Thermapen so seems pretty accurate.Humidity seems to be in line with what my dehumidifier says but I don't know how accurate that is.
Plays nicely with Home Assistant if that is of interest to you.

Non-eBay Bargains, I think?

Had this recently with baby bath thermometers. 4 different units from 3 different brands giving different readings. Useless.

The right side of the thermostat is putting out a bit of heat.

So what do I buy? Anyone else found something that actually works?

I've got an Elitech RC-51H logger which has a display and came with a calibration certificate
https://elitech.uk.com/products/rc-51h
Other things with QC process that are documented are available.

what do I buy?
Include the word "calibrated" in your search, you can get a hygro-thermometer of known accuracy for under £100

Ha, I'd be sending those back. Either I got lucky or the QC has gone way down:

I'm thinking of swapping the plastic buckles on my bag for some g clips.
Any good / safe brands of g clips to look for?

Thank you. Wondered where I had seen it but could not remember.

What’s the best way to reattach this mudguard eyelet?
Would JB Weld be the best bet? It’s the forum famous Time Machine bike. I think it had some carbon specialist bond the eyelets on somehow. I’m going to go back through the build thread to see how it was done, maybe @Dammit can shed some light on it?
I tried superglue, but as I expected it just snapped off again when I stress tested it.
Any help much appreciated

I think it was vuduglue that I was recommended by target composites for reattaching something to a carbon frame, but it was quite a while ago so I could be wrong.

The gorilla gel superglue is very good if that is the answer

• #123644
They are all over the place, will reluctantly send them back (almost definitely straight into landfill…)

Superglue is brittle once it sets, I'll say try epoxy based stuff.
That's the mudguard eyelet right?
-
• #123646
You can get rubberised superglue, which is decent for fixing punctures on TPU tubes. Epoxy would be better for that eyelet, tho, I expect.

• #123647
Which reminds me I need to get some TPU tubes!
Thanks!

If you wanted gear cable stops on an old steel lugged frame using 9 speed onwards gears what type of downtube / head tube cable stops would you choose?
It will never have downtube mounted shifters - strictly sti/bar end/trigger/etc.

LED's do naturally loose output over time but we're normally talking small margins over 10s of 1000s of hours.
Do you have another one of those fittings anywhere else? I'm not an electrician but i work in lighting and more often than not it's the power supply causing issues. If there's a remote driver in the ceiling void you could try swapping it over if you have an another one and can isolate the power safely. If it's integral then i wouldn't mess with it.
Lovely, ta
