Yeah not ideal is about it. I don't particularly want to cancel the order, doubt I'd get that much for my money elsewhere. The loaner is the alu version (GXA) or the carbon one ordered (GXC) so I mean it's a close as it could be which is great.
I'll try and get someone on the phone later today and see what else they can do. I mean ideally a 2nd wheel set or just a cassette wouldn't cost them much and certainly make the situation a bit better.
I think the root of my post here was my concern as this delay could persist indefinitely and leave me in a position where I at least have a bike, but not the one I'm paying for.

Doesn't sound ideal! Not sure what the technically right answer is, I guess Dolan maybe shouldn't have 'cashed' the voucher/your deductions shouldn't have started until they were in a position to supply your bike?
Do you actually want to cancel and get a new voucher/buy a bike from elsewhere? How good is the loaner bike?
