Give it a soak in descaler aka citric acid

The guy who invented the isolator, a guy called Bong is fairly local considering coffee sensor is in Romania.
You may be able to grab it from him!

Might put my Moccamaster up for sale if I decide to go ahead and purchase a Fellow Aiden later this year if anyone is interested
-
• #27680
How much might you want & what colour is it? Could be interested
-
• #27681
It's the light blue colour and probably £125?

I actually have one of these going if anyone wants. Free. Needs some work. If I remember rightly needs a bit of small gauge rubber tubing replaced.
Need to double check all is good but will list shortly.

Apologies if repost, just got a new aeropress original and a bag of coffee for £15 total from PACT. Add the aeropress and a coffee plan and then code METAAERO10. Cancel plan afterwards if needed obviously.

Now I need to work out what parts work in my Gaggia. I'm assuming I have a 106 because it's the larger of the two, but that's an assumption.

Turn it upside down and read the sticker on the base 😁
-
• #27689
The base is made from plywood after the original plastic one disintegrated!

If it’s the larger/got the built-in pressure stat you need ‘Post mil, Professional’ parts pretty much exclusively except for the boiler cap. You need the ‘safety boiler cap’ with built-in OPV.

• #27691
Cheers- I actually replaced the pressure cap fairly recently as it started leaking, which made the tin mans hat quite challenging to remove when the machine was turned on.

If anyone's looking for a Wilfa Svart in black (even though I've spent the last year complaining about mine), then mine is for sale. The top burr has been replaced about 8kg of coffee ago and it's cleaned up ready to go.
I didn't keep the original box unfortunately.

Think I may have found why my grind setting shifts on the DF64. There is some play in the rubber mounts for the top burr, gave the top carrier it a wiggle this morning before beans and I didn't get any grind movement.
Regardless, I've fallen out of love with the grinder and just ordered the Philos

Which burr set did you go for?

I use theespressoshop.co.uk
The postage is a killer, but OK if you remember to buy all of your bits and bobs at once.
insulation spacer that I've seen people fit between the group head and the body
Everything I've read says not to bother - the heat transfer through the metal is negligible when compared to the heat that comes from the water.
I did upgrade to the brass boiler pipe connector, though, as the plastic one falls apart. I alsonwrapped the neck of the group in PTFE tape.
If you want an insulation anyway, eBay is your best bet, as it's not a standard part.

I’d agree completely with this regarding the isolator, post mil doesn’t need it. My plastic connector is mangled too
