  • Is he looking for a high paw 4?

  • You do not touch the šŸ¾. I learnt the hard way šŸ©ø

  • Ah blood sacrifice.

Am so lucky, I can blow raspberries on the stomachs of my two without fear.

  • Question. Our cat is rather timid normally but over the past two days she has being acting more weirdly than normal. She walks about like she is scared - head down and sorta skulking about. She has been crying loudly on occasion too - something she never does. She seems off her food a bit too. Currently she is hiding under our bed - something I've only really seen at Halloween.
She is an indoor and outdoor cat - maybe 70% inside but that's her choice.
Any ideas what could have happened?

  • Might she be not feeling very well? Eating and drinking as normal?

  • She's not really eating normally. Still eating treats but not her normal wet and dry food.

  • probably worth getting her checked over by a vet if she's not back to normal in the next couple of days.

  • Thanks. Something odd happened an hour ago - fireworks. And we had them over the past two nights too. Now I'm thinking it's the fireworks which have made her so nervous.

  • Stupid question is she going to the toilet as normal? Eg inside or outside?

Sounds stupid, but I'm concerned that someone did something her. Maybe frightened her or trapped her by accident.

I would give her more attention, try to make her comfortable and if nothing has changed by Monday make a vet appointment as Chas mentioned.

Another stupid question is there a new cat on the scene? Maybe that has changed things.

Hope nothing serious and she settles back in to her routine. If itakes you feel any better, my two got weird for a while when we stopped them going in the spare bedroom when it was filled with stuff.

  • She toilets outside and I did think the same as you. But she hasn't been away for any protracted period in the past weeks. She is very shy.
Re cats in the area. There are a lot and one neighbour has a very large older cat which may have 'bullied' ours recently - I keep saying she is timid but she really is. She cowers when other cats are about. But there's no new cats around that I have spotted.
We have tried to be around for her to reduce whatever stress she has but she is acting oddly.
She wasn't keen on a dreamy liquid treat last night and that NEVER happens.
Vet on Monday if things don't improve but that will be a very stressful journey too - it's not pleasant at all.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Fingers crossed that things improve over the weekend, and it's just a weather change thing.

My girl decided not to poo for two days, which worried me. Then created a fucking poo that stank the flat out. Woke us at 4 in the morning stench. That even her brother scratched about the other litter trays in the flat. Though the sewer had cracked.

Small, fluffy, cute and greatscavdeath stench. Two days on incense to rid the flat of the unholy smell.

  • I usually phone our vets with questions like this. They've been happy to give out free advice whether or not we need an appointment. For ours it has usually been if they're not eating or drinking normally and also not acting themselves, bring them in to get checked

  • Speakers are back from the fixing chap, I moved the one that Mabel attacked the most frequently, and raising them up to beyond clawing height seems to have done the trick.

  • I bet watching telly while standing is a lot better for you too

  • Waily has been out of sorts last few days. Sleeping in unusual places, being weary of the front door when he goes out. His nemesis got run over a while back (survived) and hasn't been around for a while. Opened the front door to find her laying across our front garden path last night. Ah that'll be it. To be fair to her she actually wants to be friends but he's an anti social git.

  • We are looking after a sweet, quite stand offish cat for a month now. Iā€™m currently away and while i have been cat has been all over my wife at night pawing her running around and meowing. I told my wife try to wear her out in the day time (sheā€™s not a fit cat imo) but donā€™t know what else to advise, cat was also sick yesterday. Iā€™ve never lived with a cat thatā€™s never been outside before, we are in a big apartment but high up and on a big road. Obviously her owners didnā€™t think it was a good idea

  • Dignity? Canā€™t even spell it mate.

  • Was the sick a furball, or half eaten food?

  • Doesnā€™t look that comfortable

  • this guy is comedy gold :)

  • Cats can be comfortable in any position; it's one of their many superpowers

  • It's impossible to get any work done when I'm being micromanaged like this.

  • Zissou has come a long way from the scaredy street cat who turned up a bit over a year ago.
