  • Will be a problem keeping them frozen, but i am tempted to go up and hammer sausages in the lawn.

  • Sorry, why are you so interested in this and spending so much time on it? More important, why are you spending money to get involved? Do you have some kind of financial interest in what’s going on?

I have absolutely no financial interest or connection with either them, or network rail. They are misleading people into giving them money.

I just got pissed off when they called me a liar. All I did was accurately quote their legal Title. The title which they supplied the Web link to.

  • So you’re on some kind of mission now? To prove what to who, exactly? Don’t you have something better you could be doing with your time, like going out for a bike ride or building some IKEA furniture? It’s just a YouTube video.

  • Hopefully save gullible people from wasting their own money contributing to their just giving.

I have no issue with people giving... if they are allowed to see all the facts and still choose to.

I'm servicing the bike today. Tempted by a 12 mile forest track ride out to a disused station

  • Seems like a good summary to end the thread. #justnotgiving

  • I just got pissed off when they called me a liar.

Why? You already established they're grifters and, as mentioned upthread, a bit 'common law'-y. You likely anticipated they'd call you a liar if you said they were incorrect, but then got annoyed they did exactly what you'd expect them to do.
If it's just for sport then sure, but don't set a trap for yourself then walk into it.

  • Not quite the correct time line there.

I saw the video of them getting harassment from BTP and they didn't seem to fully understand the map which they showed the officers. "I'm not quite sure what's going with this triangle" meaning the area around the entrance to the station.

I had a look at their Title online and it definitely looks like they hadn't got a clue. Mentioned to them that it was probably a shared driveway and was told I'm not a solicitor so can't judge anything.

I payed the £3 to get a copy of the title and that confirms the online plan is correct. Posted again and got told "stop spreading false information."

They setup a gofundme and start deleting comments/blocking people. Changing from being clueless to grifters.

    I created a post here

  • Not quite the correct time line there

fair enough. tried to be helpful, they turned out to be dicks
rather than knew them to be dicks, got involved anyway

very small potential audience here though - the misc/meaningless forum doesn't get crawled by search engines

  • As a now, mostly, lurker I enjoyed this weird little rabbit hole! Much more interesting than the OTT consumerism, centrist politics, and general one-upmanship most of the forum is busy with.

  • i am tempted to go up and hammer sausages in the lawn.

There probably is some context I’m missing here, but honestly I don’t wanna know.
You hammer that frozen sausage. Hammer it good.

  • Saw a bit about 'burden 2' which they (station owners) wish to believe is abandoned. Surrender of rights if access don't just disappear. In my experience they have to be proactively surrendered. I think they are on a hiding to nothing and if they have a serious beef they should be taking it up with their conveyancer

  • We should do a forum ride to Altnabreac! Bring some of the forum lawyers for the lols.

  • You've clearly never read the Bastard Neighbours thread.

  • very small potential audience here though

Absolutely not true. This has got huge potential.

@user69121 Keep going. Could be the pinnacle of Bastard Neighbours thread.

  • Well we can't get the train! And I'm not sure the EV crew can handle the range anxiety.

  • Far more invested in the mystery of why you've chosen this hill to die on than I am in what happens with some old run down train station.

  • This is a “is this for real!?” moment for me. Couple buys a house next an operational Network Rail (ScotRail) station and think they own the whole lot?

Let’s hope they own a tamper; a track trolley; a few ironmen etc and also hope they have knowledge and certification to maintain everything if they plan to prevent NR access but also, at the same time, expect trains to stop there.

Edit: oh and a contract with Cemex and Tata

    Idiots.

  • And to the OP. A noble pursuit, if you’re genuinely trying to stop people funding their cause.

But a fool and his money are easily parted, and sometimes you just have to let nature take it’s course.

  • We should do a forum ride to Altnabreac! Bring some of the forum frozen sausages for the lols.

    FTFY 😀

  • They would need to be vegan ethically sourced frozen sausages though.

  • Bike serviced and fresh sealant just in case I'm daft enough to actually ride the thing!

Now come in and see they posted an old video giving more context to the dispute. Was actually worried for a few seconds.

Public right of way pedestrian gate is freely accessible. Except when it's padlocked.

They claim their land extends out towards Loch Dubh over 1Km away and Loch Caise which is 2km away. All whilst buying a £162k home within a small area. An area which they acknowledge they own, bounded by the red line and burdend so this can't legaly contest until 2029.

All whilst claiming NR can't do any work on the disputed land, but digging up the platform themselves. If its disputed, its not yours to dig up until its been legally assigned. Absolutely deluded.

    @Ben689908
lol I hadn't thought about their Solum rights over the railway and the upkeep of the track. Let alone upgrades which are now outstanding. That bill wouldn't be cheap

  • Saw a bit about 'burden 2' which they (station owners) wish to believe is abandoned. Surrender of rights if access don't just disappear. In my experience they have to be proactively surrendered. I think they are on a hiding to nothing and if they have a serious beef they should be taking it up with their conveyancer.

Being as they were allegedly told "you own all ot the fenced area and platform " I did ask if they had it in writing or recorded and the solicitor had indemnity insurance.

Burden 2 relates to an old rail siding to the west of the property. Railway board vehicle access was granted over their land, going from the siding goods yard across to the right of way.
Just because nobody has used it in a few years and probably won't, doesn't mean it can't be used.

  • I’m invested now. Cba to read everything but
, Can’t they just stay on their property and not go near the railway.

I feel like there is a harmonious end available here

  • Well I have now (30 odd pages of…)
