• Built up for my partner who made the mistake of mentioning in passing that she'd like a road bike.
    It got rode exactly twice.

Frame is Reynolds 725 Thorn Fillet brazed. Doesn't have a model name so I think it must have been a custom build.

    • Mudguard eyelets on the forks.
    • Clearance for 28c and guards or 30c (maybe 32c though ive never tried)
    • Amazing mettalic purple paint
    • Ritchey dropouts
    • lovely seat cluster and brazing all round
-49 ctc seat tube x 51 ctc top tube - slightly sloping geometry so more like a 53 effective top tube
    • Good condition with a little rust at the mech hanger, where the old front mech band on was, some cable rub on the headtube and the odd scratch and chip else where. Still looks incredible

    Build spec:

    • Complete Tiagra 4700 2x10 groupset (50t,34t- 11-34t). Done less than 100miles since new
    • Roval Large Flange hubs on H+Son Archetypes, built with Sapim CX rays (these came from an old sunday best build of mine so have done a little more miles but loads of life left in the rims)
    • Easton 70 set back carbon seatpost. Love the way the set back lug ln this looks oldschool
    • Soma HWY1 modern drop bars in silver.
    • Campag Chorus 1" Threadless headset
    • Selle italia s3 saddle, sadly coming away at the edges a little
    • Pasealla tyres with literally all the tons of life left

Pedals not included, though can chuck in some standard shimano spds if that sweetens the deal.

Viewings and test ride in Bristol.
Looking for £600 -> £550 -> SOLD let me know if i'm way off with that.

  • God looking at the photos I really should have given it a bit of spit and polish before posting huh

  • Is there a serial number on the BB? If it has a KS in it then it was built by Kevin sayles = quality

    https://paulmor.wordpress.com/2010/06/14/the-framebuilders-art-kevin-sayles/

  • Its an LA. - 39032001. So not Kevin Sayle but a pretty extraordinarily nice frame. Remember one year I took it with me into Bespoked to see a friend and it garnered a lot of interest even there

  • LA .. Lee Cooper then

  • It's very nicely proportioned for a frame that size.

  • Ahh, that’s good to know, thanks

  • As it’s a sloping Toptube I imagine the frame is actually larger than the numbers suggest. Probably a 53cm effective

  • You’re right, it is slightly compact geometry. It’s only very subtlety off the flat, in fact I’d not even noticed. Effective too tube length, from the centre of the top of the top tube to the middle of the seat post is around 52.5cm - 53cm.

  • I have one very similar but in 853 - those were called the Cyclosportif. There’s a load of info on these if you search Google

  • Just checked and yep you're right, thanks for the info, this one has mudguard eyelets front and back.

  • Price drop bump- £550

  • Absolute bargain. GLWS!
(Also: try the CTC forum if no joy here. They’d appreciate this)

  • Any interesting selling as frameset only?

  • @.ben Not totally against the idea. Make me an offer and I’ll see how the idea sits
@matthewn5 thanks for the tip off; I’ve never been on their forum, I’ll check it out

  • Could be interested in the groupset/wheels if you split
