  • You’re gonna crush it!

  • Big can of monster seems to be what the TikTok influencers roll with

  • Nocco if you’re a hyrox/equinox lad

  • Big can of Monster did the trick

  • Well played.

Tik tok also suggests kellogs squares, in case you need a boost to hit 105 next week.

  • Really ground through that 100kg rep so won't be trying anything above for a while 🤣

  • Good work lad 💪💪

  • I've lifted as a complimentary side to cycling for a good few years now, but this winter I'm considering hitting it a bit harder (to the weight detriment hopefully it riding) to get more lower body volume. Any tips? Unfamiliar with body building resources online.

  • For context, I'm tall and naturally slim, but I can put muscle on - used to play rugby and was 90-95kg compared to the 75kg I am now. Although some of that was beer weight thinking about it..but yeah diet was the main thing then as otherwise just did what the strength coach told us.

  • Inspired by @Bainbridge I cranked out a pyramid set culminating in a 1rm of 95kg. When I was bigger I got over the 100kg mark, so now gonna try and get there again. Had to ask to for a spot which helped me push through!

  • Big benching all over the place!

  • big bench energy

  • I really rate Renaissance Periodization for muscle growth info. They do some super nerdy science stuff but their basic guides are pretty accessible.

Edit: 3DMJ are good too, much more of a clear focus on natural lifters but very dry in comparison.

  • Get in! Go man!

I wonder if I now need to get on this big bench energy train....

Might take a few months to get back up there... Can the train swing passed again in November? 😂

  • Love their content, have spent many hours watching/listening

Only comment, their content is always gender neutral but feels focused on men. Would love to see a bit more acknowledgment of women (e.g. calling out if there are any differences or not).

On that point, any good female content out there? MrsH wants to get into lifting but the RP team aren’t exactly inspiring from her perspective

  • Ah yeah for sure! Nights will be drawing in soon, perfect time for moar gym.

Just wondering about my next goal and if I can put 20kg on my deadlift I'll hit 1/2/3/4

  • I don’t follow female-specific content because of the algorithm/wife risks but I know Marissa Inda used to (presumably still) puts out some quality content that isn’t all ‘glute girl’ focused.

  • Eugene Teo has very good practical advice. Especially so, If like me, you hate being in the gym for longer than necessary.

  • Perfect, thanks!

  • Had a crack at PB'ing my deadlift, got 180kg up and felt pretty good

  • 20kilo PB?! Get in!

  • Yep 😎

Think I've got more in the tank but will save that for another day.

Gotta be aiming for 200kg before the end of the year

  • I managed 60kg clean and presses... I am disappointed...

(with no knowledge on how to actually do a c&p)

  • Some heroic efforts this last page, inspirational stuff!

Anyone know if there's a bro-science method of estimating how many calories are burned during a session? I'm keeping a close eye on my food intake as i'm trying to keep the fat off while putting some muscle back on, i've just been working off my normal calorie intake while making sure i'm getting at least ~1.5g/kg protein, but having no idea how much energy i'm expending I don't want to affect recovery.

I'm around 72kg & total weight shifted per session is usually around 7500 kg (usually 4 exercises 3x8) - i've seen online calculators that estimate your calorific burn based on time exercising but most of that time for me is rest, any ideas that don't involve 5 pages of equations?
