The paintjobs are certainly less flamboyant, but I’d say the road bikes in the pro peloton today differ more now than ever.
An S5 vs an Aeroad vs a tarmac vs a Scott Foil etc.

• #11932
You could also say all retro bikes look the same
-
• #11933
I saw these on the way to work the other day. Owners also in matching kit. fucking wild.

I can’t wait for the current crop of aero bikes to get into the hands of future edgelords.

Would all make good starter posts for a ‘bikes you’d be happy to receive for your rental in Mallorca’ thread

At least the Colnago looks fast. The other two are proper dad chariots*.
*which is what I ride these days.

They look a lot like gravel bikes to me

• #11939
Looks edgelord?
-
• #11940
Yeah, but I think you’d be hard pressed to spend more on a bike currently. Then there’s the fact it’s matching ones for two friends. So that’s quite baller

Builders pantographed bit to make them different.
Colnago/Rossin/De Rosa/Gios/ Pela / Masi/Raleigh SBDU very trivial differences.
Colnago VR4 vs Cervelo S5 big difference. -

Thanks @Ordinata and @Kimmo. I don't think there's enough wild paint jobs on current bikes, most companies playing it safe and dull. Not that I can afford a modern 10k bike, but if I could I'd never dream of a white or black one, dream bigger.
And apols for pics of the oldies, but as requested some more pics of the Tommasini.

..and unmistakable Mario Martini Somec, who must have been tripping off his goard when he did this,. must be over 10 colours, every time I try and count I get distracted by a star burst and have to start over.

Colnago Concept paint - it’s not just Colnago that do still offer flash paint jobs, but I think they are often limited due to the low demand.

Those are fucking glorious.
But dude - clean your drivetrains! And when you lube your chains, take the time to just put a single drop on each roller, and then spend a while wiping the excess off the chain after it's worked in. Repeat after a short ride, a couple of times.
That way you can have a lubed chain while maintaining full bling. Only the inside of the chain and the edges of the teeth will be black. What's more, it's probably good for more longevity, because you don't have this big sticky mess attracting grit which can then work its way inside the chain.
Yeah, meant to say 'phwoar' at those
