  • Each time i see your yellow bike the bike-envy goes through the roof. More so with that giant baguette!

  • So good, might be my current favourite forum bike.

  • Glad I read this thread just for this. Amazing!

  • Glad everyone’s enjoying the nugget! Project thread to follow as my aching everything means this’ll be getting some shiny new alt bars soon

  • Is anyone on here stupid/brave enough to tour on their brompton?
What does that set up look like.

  • Yessir.

15 days "Severely overloaded but still credit card" touring around France and Netherlands.

The bikes faired really well, except for the cobbles. Mixed pedaling days with public transports, quite fatiguing but definitely worth it!

  • I recently did 'way of the roses' bikepacking on my Brompton - worked out OK =]

  • Thanks both of you , do fancy dipping my toe into a light tour using hotels n credit card , none of that camping malarky.
Both those set ups give me a bit of inspiration.

This person does a lot of Brompton touring and camping- lots of videos

  • Ha, that’s great, I was actually in the Lomo shop today and was wondering about these for my off road set up. If you have a moment, How are they holding up and what’s the faff level like taking em off and on

  • Setup as used for my Dolomites Tour last week.

  • Didn't the lack of pressure on the front wheel bother you while climbing? Or did you wheelie uphill?

  • They seem indestructible, I’ve just been dragging them across Dartmoor granite and they look unmarked.
I don’t take them off the rack at all and are set up so they actually tighten on solidly. They are on an Ortlieb Quick Rack which comes off in a few seconds.

I’m guessing by your username and location you are John red balloon ? I’m in Brixton Cycles Club and know Adrian etc.

  • Lomo bags on Dartmoor

  • Summer setup for 1-3 nights of camping.
Fork bag 1: tent and sleeping pad
    Fork bag 2: sleeping bag
Frame bag: tent poles, tools, spare tire, toilet paper, lezyne micro floor drive etc
Carradice: clothes, food and cooking kit, water filter, first aid, medicine, camp sandals, towel and other random stuff
Handlebar bag: candy, electronics, wallet, bluetooth speaker, lock
    Top tube bag: more candy
    Feed bag x2: bottles

Same stuff in a bit different order!

Fall and winter change things a bit and I might replace the handlebar bag with large Restrap handlebar bag.

  • Really like this setup.

  • My Big Bro setup for a month in Georgia.
For shorter trips I ditch the rack and two packs attached to it.

  • Awesome. That’s a bucket list trip

  • Big Bro

That's a lot of cassette. What is it?

  • Highly recommend it! Great country with very hospitable people

  • It's an 11-46 XT cassette.

  • Here's my little 'lightweight' setup from last weekends trip around the Cambrian mountains. First time running the four panniers, only problem with more space is you pack more stuff.

  • Very nice, I like 4 small panniers a lot visually.

    What's the racks?
