Which Tyres?

Whoops, forgot to hit send a few days back! I am into that sort of thing, but not so-much for this wheel/tyre combo.

I bit the bullet and bought 28mm Corsa Control G2.0s. I'm also running the Vittoria Air Liner Roads - you know those foam inserts. Honestly, they're an utter pain to deal with until you get the hang of it - installing, removing, getting sealant in - but the ride on them is oh-so special. So plush even at 60/65psi, which feels hard to the touch, but buttery on the road - to the point I think they're comfier than my 40mm gravel tyres with alu wheels (at road PSI).

Any good value all round 26" x 2.0" tyres?

Looking for something that won't be more than 50mm wide on a 22mm internal rim.

Mixed use - mainly foot paths, some ropey, some moss and leaf cover.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record - Continental Contact Urban. Go for 26x1.75 instead of 26x2.0 if you're worried about clearance.

Based on my own experience they do come up a little on the small side, but only by a couple of mm - and that is across 19, 21 and 25 mm internal rims.

I'm quite tempted to fit Race Kings to my own 26" atb once I wear out the table tops that are on there now.

Seems a good deal especially considering the good Road CC review

My corsas have delaminated, what nice tan walls are there out there? Clincher in 25c. I've read the new Corsa pros run weird on narrow rims? Think they've stopped producing the graphine 2.0 ones right?

Or anyone selling anything in nice shape, coras, cottons etc?

If they're anything like the Power Cups I've been running all summer they might come up big. My 28s measure 31.5mm.

I've got the now defunct power tubeless ones in 32c which come up at 35c on my rims, I've got used to that plump width.

I've always found Michelin tyres tend to have more volume than the advertised size suggests.

Are they genuinely good in the winter? I've only recently bought a set for summer wheel duties. On the occasion that I've gone over some water on the road during climbs, I've then got a load of wheelspin. This has happened probably 5 times now. This has made me worry about their wet weather grip.

By contrast my wheels with Continental 4 seasons tyres is always so sure footed. Last week I pulled onto a mossy stone pavement, came to a stop, and almost fell right over as it was so slippy. Those tyres have really impressed me with their grip.

Probably not the 'best' winter tyre.... But imo probably the best 'performance' winter tyre. I am a summer bike vittoria enjoyer so dont want to compromise on performance too much. the gp5000s do last a lot longer than vittorias an offer marginally better puncture protection. I had some 4 seasons once and didnt like them... too rigid... got punctures with bits of flint in the gaps... didnt think grip was that much better...

the gp5000 all season has great wet grip score on BRR as well as low rolling resistance. I have a set of 35s on the way

GP5K all year round is the baller move. They are fine in winter/wet, they will just wear faster than a winter tyre.

Yep I've had a pair on my winter bike since last August. They're quite good although not that different to the regular GP5000s that were on there before - aside from the snazzy hidden reflective sidewall. I was surprised that they punctured more and more quickly than I hoped / expected, although have lasted reasonably well and did seal up ok. I think I was just expecting more of a difference to the non-AS which hasn't really been the case.

tyres are your contact point with the ground, you should never skimp on them.

yep its a stupid thing to do, bouji tyres on an average bike > cheap tyres on S-works

He rides for an hour a week in the mud though.

Durable tyres > fast tyres every day of the week (except race days).

I ride 20 mins a week max, never go above that, what are you? ultra-cyclist?!
