• Just to add to this, I paid £44.96 + VAT = £53.96 for oil I can buy online for £28.99. They've got to me making 4X on the oil alone given the size of the drum they're buying in bulk. Expect and would want them to make a margin to cover overheads and make money but that's significant!

Have done my own oil etc before but just at the moment thought I'd allow myself the luxury of letting them do the wipers

  • Wait till you find out what the multiplier mark-up is on a teabag!

  • Look up mannol oil on eBay from the carriage company. Much better oil than Spartan and g force ;)

Also look up the price of an oil filter, if you can see the brand and see the markup on them.

Finally be a woman to be really ripped off.

  • Yeah, and this is why I always do my own servicing within reason. Too many experiences over the years of being unhappy afterwards at how much I've ended up paying for things.

Another pet peeve of mine on invoice like that is how they charge the labour. There should be an hourly rate and then they charge you for how many hours were taken. Instead on your invoice there's 75 quid for the oil service, and 113 quid for the other bits. I always hate getting an invoice like that.
