Tubeless is great for micro punctures. The bigger the puncture the less effective it is, but it’s no less effective than a tube would’ve been.
Tubed or tubeless, if a plug and sealant won’t fix it, you need to tyre boot it and put a tube in.
To make sure you can always get home, you still need to carry a tube and a tyre boot when riding tubeless.
Been cycling tubeless for about 2 weeks after getting the bike second hand (new wheels). Cycling home for the office, an hour in can feel air against my leg. Small slash in tyre. What do I do? Tried the sealant but just came out the hole again and sides, do I need to buy new tyres? Can I just buy standard gator skins and go back to tubes on the same wheels? Any pointers appreciated :)
