I missed this crash at the time and only just found it when looking for the other possible fatality in Sunbury. The circumstances of this double fatality are not completely clear, but the police are investigating whether it may have been murder. Two vehicles, a black e-bike and a car, are mentioned, and it is possible, though not announced, that the dead were riding the e-bike, as the police mention a collision. The police warn against speculation, however, so we will have to wait for further news, or possibly court proceedings, to find out more. If the victims turn out not to have been the riders, I'll edit this post accordingly.
A double murder investigation has been launched following the death of two men in a collision in Sunbury.
Officers were called at 00.52am on Monday, 22 July to the A316 southbound slip road onto the M3 following a suspected collision involving a black e-bike.
South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the location but sadly a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man in his 20s was taken to hospital, where he sadly died later that same day. Our thoughts remain with their families.
