You could keep it simple and just use a bendy Ölflex cable, unless you need to decouple?
-
• #9253
Fair. We were talking about decoupling, but maybe it just need a folding hinge

Very shortly I will be able to start selling these guys on my webshop.
Forager Cycles have been doing some cute products for a while but this new one really made me excited. I think it's a great little tool to bring on your bike packing adventures. It doesn't weigh very much and can really save the day.
My cages will also be available from their site in the near future. Small fab unite!

I almost bought one of their caps the other day but the postage was more than the hat itself :(

! so cool. you should try to get some of their cable cherries too :)

Yeah maybe. Never had a really big urge use them as I can't imagine danish salty winter roads would do anything nice them. I can see how they might seize easily.

Yes. And the company ethos is very likable as well so it was a no-brainer to reach out and ask for a trade.

I guess danish post isn't going to help you there.

After our little boy arrived, my daughter and I have done less and less singletrack. Cycling with the kids often is a break for my wife to do some work or relax. And this mean the little fella has had to come a long. His cycling isn't really ready for singletrack and its just harder to get out the door with two kids (both strongly opnionated about things) plus my energy levels are just lower since I started as self employed and obviously kid number two also drains me... You might know how it is.
Anyways, yesterday we did 5km with the trailer and it was sooo much fun. My daughter lost a little bit of the courage she used to have but I think we can regain that over winter and by getting her on bigger wheels next season.
She has a habit of sitting on her seat on rocky/rooty terrain. We are working on this but I am considering making her a soft tail...

We are going to have to move someday and I will miss this place. I feel extremely lucky to live close to this sort landscape in a country that is like 95% farmland

What size wheels will she be on? You don't see many 20 inch full sus bikes. Could be an interesting challenge.

When is currently on 16". 20" with big tyres is next move.
Find me an affordable 20" fork that is reasonably light and good enough quality that it belongs on a custom steel bike and we can talk about it.

I'm having visions of a Hulsroy Softride™ coming out of the workshop.

Left field idea, but what about a soft tail with a rigid fork? Then put a 2.5" tyre on the front. A bit like mullet 69er bikes when 29" first came out.
Isn't the problem you're trying to solve for bodyweight on the rear rather than contact patch on the front?

That's what I was getting at with the Softride suggestion.

This is exactly what I am talking about. Soft tail but using material properties to create flex the rear triangle like a fork flexes
That could work! Thanks
