Saw some incredibly offensive graffiti in a public toilet in a small Cornish town today signed by KKW (keep kernow white). Utterly depressing and disgusting.

I’m starting a podcast about racism this Saturday. It could be a terrible idea and me and my friend are perhaps not the people to do it.
But it feels like a lot of conversations aren’t happenings and as uncomfortable as they might be they need to happen.
If and when I figure out how to publish it, I’d love some feedback. So will leave a link on this thread. Good or bad I need to hear it as I want to get this right or at least move it in the right direction.

The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, which handled that trial against Williams, said in its January motion that DNA testing of the murder weapon could exclude Williams as Gayle’s killer. But the argument fell apart last month after new DNA testing revealed the murder weapon had been mishandled, contaminating the evidence meant to exonerate Williams and complicating his quest to prove his innocence.
Attorneys on both sides “received a report indicating the DNA on the murder weapon belonged to an assistant prosecuting attorney and an investigator who had handled the murder weapon without gloves prior to trial,” according to a docket summary of the case.

Over 50? have this test every year as part of your MOT health check..
-
• #1783
At over 50 you need to do the poo test too for bowel cancer.
But it is just a blood test, FFS.
-
• #1784
yeah that too.. suite of health checks for over 50s

I don't understand what the issue is about not allowing a blood test. Sooner found sooner sorted and cheaper for the NHS and quicker recover.
My annoyance is we should have the poo check earlier and colonoscopies sooner. No worry about having camera up the arse as the drugs they give you are good if you explain.
Am I seeing an ism when there isn't one or the usual bias issues such as child birth.

I don't understand what the issue is about not allowing a blood test
the point is that it is happening in this country, has nothing to do with the NHS.. think about it.. if you want a test your GP is the first place you’d ask.. I ask every year for a PSA test, reminded that it is inconclusive, blah blah. If you then think what’s the point, the chances are that you might not pick it up early enough.

I’ve always thought the NICE advice on PSA tests to be disingenuous.
I’m white and whenever I asked my GP for a PSA he tried to put me off but I insisted, and guess what, they caught my particularly aggressive prostate cancer just in time.
I know several friends of friends, all black, who died of prostate cancer over the last 10 years. And one work colleague, white, who had the same cancer strain as me and died because it had spread everywhere by the time they discovered it.

An archaeological project to better tell the story of a horrific mass murder 234 years ago and to gain insight into how slaves were transported:
Simbine says: “L‘Aurore is a symbol of resistance and revolt of black people refusing to be taken out of their land.”

It’s like Ukraine, but it ain’t. When black migrate workers were denied access into neighbouring countries when fleeing conflict.. quite despicable really

I am so glad you persisted with your GP, hearing Sir Chris Hoy’s tragic news this week has certainly raised prostate cancer awareness. i hope all is okay with you

Chris Kaba's killer acquitted of murder.
There will undoubtedly be a follow-up to this.

Blake still facing gross misconduct charges and Inquest, yet we continue to live with a broken and discriminating society where justice feels like privilege for some not all. Also inquests can be very expensive

I'd like to ask about the appropriateness of using the acronym BIPOC in England. The issue has somewhat been hijacked by the usual RW edgelords but I've had a few convos about what indigenous means and afaik Anglos, Saxons and Celts have existed on this isle for millennia so are they not indigenous?

It’s not really relevant over here from my understanding. Partially useful in America where I suppose they are trying to continue to create connections and bonds between cultures that need solidarity and have similar issues and marginalisation.
But over here the indigenous part doesn’t really make much sense.
Probably just another term that’s making it way across the Atlantic which may or may not gain traction..
This was in the Propel hospitality trade newsletter this morning.
