  • Anyone know a way to save a Google Maps route to your account in order to open it again in the phone app?

Basically you can only drag the line around on desktop browser, and then using the "send to phone" thing doesn't actually give you the same route, just the auto route between the start and end points.

I can't use the "add stops" thing to make the same route on mobile, coz I won't be able to tap the button to move onto the next destination.

  • There is a way but it's complicated, will edit in with links as I piece it together again.

Edit: might be as simple as going here, whilst logged in

    https://www.google.com/maps/d/

From there you can make a map, and the preview link will open it in the maps app proper, with the actual route saved, rather than just points of interest

  • thanks for this - its frustratingly close. I can save a map with the only layer being the directions I need, and I can view this on my phone, but i can't actually use the directions with turn by turn. searching around, it seems this last bit of functionality just doesnt exist
