• Anyone here ride the first round of WMCCL?

Very grassy and undulating course absolutely kicked my ass, but I did have tonnes of fun. Will try and make a few more rounds this year.

The bike was dialed, 11-32 cassette was a good choice and 35 gravelkings were a treat at 30psi. Really handled well.

  • Missed the first one Josh but glad you make it...silly question...can you run 35? isn't 700x33 a cyclocross rule?
Hopefully I can have a go in the next ones but depends on work shifts :(

  • I was there, plodding my way around at the back of vet race. Was heading for 3rd last until I fell over in the one muddy corner.

  • I'm off games at the moment, but took my lad down for the U10 race - which was a bit of a step-up for him from the U8's. I am genuinely shocked at the level of kit that pretty much all the other kids had - plenty of carbon, Oakley, SPDs etc etc. He was massively out of his depth on 20" wheels and crocs, the poor guy.

Have you removed all of the grass out of your rear mech yet?! Took me ages to clean his bike!

  • Me!

Was great to see so many people out and see Evie take the win in the women’s. I was seriously impressed by my mates daughter taking fourth not far behind too!

The women had to race on tougher conditions than then men, really dried out between the two events, which wa a great for me as my second set of wheels on baby Limus’ wouldn’t hold air so grifo it was…

Only my rear wasn’t holding air and n that set either! Two toots on a pump as I dragged myself around, finishing on a flat for ~20th in the vets race.

Very happy with new bike though, having snapped a dropout on ye olde kinesis it’s amazing how much buzz the Boone takes out!
