You could ask them what they like, they might not even drink? But if they say carling you might want to cancel.

I think Lidl might have one or two in at the moment. But I've not been for a couple of weeks when I last saw it.

AFAIK Steinhauser is the only German brewed beer.

You may be too late to order this, but had some Wherry at its brewery a couple of weeks ago and really loved it.

My mileage varies. Well, it did the last time I had it. Rumours abound they've changed the recipe, but four years ago I did a blind comparison of all the Aldi/Lidl lagers and Rheinbacher came out on top. Used to be a terrific German pilsner.

I've got a bunch of beer festival pint glasses I want rid of but I don't want to just bin them. Any ideas?

Filling them with piss and throwing them at speeding SUVs has already been shortlisted.

I stuck loads of glasses on Olio and a guy who has a bar in Nigeria took them all. He ships them over to his bar.

If you're ever in Cobbetts in Dorking or the Evening Star In Brighton you can try their stuff.

They won two CAMRA gold awards at beer festivals last year. I think they have some beers at the Bluebell Railway beer festival on 20th -22nd September if any is going.

Moeder Lambic Fontainas is walkable (20mins tops) and brilliant. As is GIST. Brasserie Surrealiste is fab but further.

Cantillon also now has a neighbour, Brasserie de l’Ermitage. More modern craft styles.

Craft wine is here. This is white wine with hops, it's actually really good, 6.5%, good summer drink. Would bang again.

I was expecting it to be rank but it's really nice. A bit like a dry cider but without the tartness, super crisp.

Cheers. Missus ended up putting them on Farcebook or something and a couple of randos got a bunch.

Trappist beer is incredibly cheap in French supermarkets. Chimay Bleue €1.55, St Bernadus €2.05 etc.

It also happens to be a rainy day in Brittany and I intend to get fully stuck in.

shrink - flation by the back door ? pint goes up in price, 2/3rds pint priced at the same as a pint ? drinkers get screwed ?

and since when has a pint been too much .... well maybe after the 11th, but it's a problem that doesn't need fixing

One of our local brewery tap rooms does it, it is priced fairly, generally I enjoy it as I'll have three but only drank two pints, so can sample three different beers, or quite often go back to the first for the third as it was so good, and then and then cycle home without too much wobble. I accept that this isn't the norm for most drinkers though who happily stick to the same brand all night and will be annoyed by the increased frequency of getting the beers in!

It does sounds like another nail in the pub trade coffin though if it does gain any traction with the quoted 10% reduction in volume sold in the trial!
