    They've loads of life

  • Slick is quick

  • Has anyone got a dirt jump bike they want to shift (for the taller gentleman of 6'3)?

  • Please state that you are in midlife and planning to wear Vans and cut off jeans on the dirty jumper?

  • Very much so

Although I don't have vans or cut off jeans

  • Kids are ready to shred

  • I hired a Marin Alcatraz this morning. Took a while to get over the fear of something so short and twitchy, but finally cleared a gap line.

  • Matt Jones' hard-line bike.

  • Please state that you are in midlife and planning to wear Vans and cut off jeans…

I’d call myself middle aged but is it a crisis if I never stopped dressing like that?

  • Will be listing these on eBay/marketplace soon enough, but before I do thought I’d see if there was any interest on here.

Pair of Mavic Deemax Ultimate 29 wheels with XD free hub. Think they’re from 2021
    6 bolt disc mount.
These are non boost and 15x100mm front and 12x142mm rear.
They have had tyres and a cassette mounted but have never been ridden.
Front is pretty much immaculate and the rear has some cosmetic scratches to the top of the rim and a small scratch down the rim.

Really nice wheels, rims are30mm internal.

I’ve also got spacers 2x 5mm front and 2x 3mm rear to make these boost compatible along with disc mount spacers. Probably got some tubeless valves too.

Have boxes to post if needed

    Looking for £125 + postage

    Based in Newport Wales

The photos attached are ones from before tyres/discs/cassette were mounted.
Will post some more later showing the scratches

  • I'd recommend avoiding dirt jumps as you approach your 40s. I built a jump bike, fell off every second time and spent most of my time with areas of me bleeding till I split it for parts. That was 18 months ago, but I haven't learnt. Visiting friends in Sheffield yesterday we took the kids to Parklands trails and I crashed his BMX on the pump track doubling some rollers...much blood and a sore wrist...too old for this shit.

  • This sounds about right. A guy I was following in on some lines yesterday face planted later on and knocked himself out. Grim.

On a different note, we found the maddest dirt jumps in the woods in Suffolk on a walk today. Absolutely massive set-up, but there is no information about them on line.

  • Near Orford?

  • Icepits wood in Great Barton.

  • Is building jumps a thing in rural Suffolk then? We found the ones near Orford when we're staying there for the other half's fortieth.

  • I guess it must be. This place had huge kickers over berms and multiple lines for transfers.

It was clearly in use as all was well swept and covered, but my mother-in-law has never seen anyone there despite walking the dog in those woods most days.

  • I seem to have bought an MTB DVD back in 2017 called "3 Minute Gaps". It's still shrink wrapped. Anyone know why? I presume someone mentioned it on here.

  • Watching some of it on youtube. It is good.

My new Canyon Spectral mullet is arriving on Tuesday, which i am excited about.

  • I've no idea why I bought it. Assume some kind of recommendation but I don't know where from. Guess I'll have to unwrap it and give it a watch.

  • Does anyone have any opinions on how to set rebound and compression on a fork for kids? Without being able to get informed feedback from them, i have just set both mid range.

  • Looking for some advice please from you MTB experts.

I want to buy a decent lightweight hard tail MTB for use on roads, gravel, sand and stoney trails, it will only get a couple of months use a year so lower end of spendy.

I’ll be buying it in Spain so decathlon/halfords type recommendations won’t work.

Thanks if anyone can help with suggestions.

    They have Decathlon in Spain.
