Thanks. Unfortunately Halifax seem to have decided it's down to me to sort out. What's really annoying is while I appreciate that a credit check has to be done, my current account and credit cards are Halifax and they should show ample details of my financial history.
I already have ClearScore, which I believe is Equifax. Should I be concerned about any adverse effects from signing up to more of these things?

Have you tried any other mortgage lenders, or just Halifax?

Probably on his way to or back from Saffron Walden.

He's just had a wrist operation so is recuperating from that (and no cycling for three weeks @Oliver Schick)

I know, I was just joking. :)

Why don't all speed cameras actually take photos? There's a couple near me which do nothing. Motorists locally know they do nothing.

I think the optics package can be moved around between boxes, so although they do nothing at the moment that doesn't mean they won't at some time in the future. There's a deterrent effect if people don't know which boxes are active, and there's a revenue benefit if people get cocky about their state of knowledge🙂

They have those all around my city, and as tester says they move 'em around to keep you guessing.

Makes sense. I'd rather all boxes had an optics package installed though 🤷♂️

Good for a quick G&T as you're passing.

I have an indoor mini Tapo camera pointing out of my office window to view the garden. We’ve had badgers digging everything up and I wanted to see where they were gaining entry and to see if some deterrents were working. However at night the window reflects the IR light making the picture useless. Anything I can do? Or do I need to purchase an outdoor cam instead?

Anything I can do?
..smash the window?

You could get a trail cam, triggered by movement.
You can get ones that connect to WiFi. I bought one when a vixen made my shed into her den and I watched the 4 cubs grow up in the garden.Other option is a cheapish security cam that can also do WiFi and you can leave it there for..err... security

How did you stop this meaning the garden was constantly full of fox shit or did you just live with that?
We have local back garden foxes and I wouldn't mind them but for the constant shit everywhere which means I can never let my toddler out without doing a safety check first

Male wee does, in my experience, keep reynard away from my lawn.
Don't try it with female wee. it'll drive them mad.
And no, it doesn't make your garden smell of wee. -

Yeah that is the one thing I've tried before but it's a bit faffy / I don't love having to piss in a bottle so I can distribute it. Maybe I'll have a few drinks over the weekend and give it another go though...

If you stick it right up against the window with a bit of tape or something you might be more successful.

That’s what I was wondering. I’ll try that first as I’d rather not have to splash out on more hardware.

There’s another way to do this, provided you’re not in view of neighbours.
