Not really sewing, but it involved a lot of thread and a needle.
Three of my cross stitches are off to an exhibition tomorrow. The one in the middle only got back from being framed today, hence the packaging.
It is like waving goodbye to three kids all at once

Nice work, your own designs?
Printed on or working from a chart? -

I whacked a photo into some software which I printed out.
The medium Biggy has 106 different colours in it. They took me ages to do, believe it or not

Oh I believe it, I have a sister that does needlework and see how long it takes her to get through the bigger projects.

Would anyone on here be willing to offer a repair service by post? I’ve a small Topo designs bag where both of the straps held together with safety pins. I’m up in Leeds and hoped I could post it to somebody on here for a repair (paid of course)

Is it a case of stitching the webbing back onto to the shoulder straps? Is there a pic of what it was originally like?
I'm happy to give it a go just cover postage and maybe a small forum donation. In mcr if that maybe gives you a no post option if you cross this way much?
Else its the sort of thing your local stitch-up style project would fix v.quickly else alpkit if a store locally you can reach?

Seems to have failed at 4 points per strap. Ideally these points seem to need more significant stitching.
Thanks for the offer, I’ll PM you because i do occasionally get over to Manchester (well Marple).

Hi all,
I'm wondering if I could commission a small job from anyone able to sew webbing (eg. like the omnium webbing up the thread). I'm looking to make a continuous loop to carry a pannier over my shoulder as 1. I'm new to panniers and 2. hand carrying the one I generally have with me is already annoying. A loop of 15ocm i think will give me 2 styles of carry and require just a simple sturdy sew on the overlap. Anyone have some webbing lying around and a machine that can sew it? All colours considered. DM me to discuss if so. Thanks! -

You just want a loop of webbing? Literally just sewn up?
Message me that’s easy.

Anyone know of a shop in SE that might sell zipper stops? Or one that could help repair mine
Rang a couple sewing shops but none seem to be able to help. Trying to avoid buying a bulk bag of sizes online as I'm unlikely to use them again

Gratuitously large with clutch and full size table. This got a servo motor a few months ago.
Then, finally, today it got a trim.

If anyone fancies a drive to Devizes for an industrial machine, I'll be selling my Pfaff straight stitch .
It's equivalent to a Brother DB2. It'll do fine materials up to denims, tarps, etc. Plain drop feed, not a walking foot or anything. I used it extensively to make bags and pouches.
Will be sold set up with a clutch motor. I used it with a servo motor but I've taken that to use on the other machine. You can get a modern servo motor for around £120 and retrofit like I do.

Has anyone made bike bags from waxed cotton? I think Carradice use 18oz canvas but think I could get away with something lighter weight for a framebag.

Someone please come and take this off my hands. I’ll take £80 to see it go to a good home. (Devizes)

Did you find a solution? same thing just happened to me as well

Sort of, I tried a bunch of shops but couldn't find anything that worked.
I used a needle and thread to stitch a diy zipper stop looking thing which I covered with a dab of rubber cement (from a puncture repair kit) to make my own stop. It doesn't look great and a bit fiddly to use but works fine and seems to be lasting for now

You can sometimes jimmy off a metal crimp end from an end-of-life garment zipper, and crimp back on. Careful not to stress it too much and needs to be right length/diameter.
Shorts: please let me die.
Me: no :^)
