  • Can confirm, source: have lost many many hours on “one more run”.

  • Its amazing value for money, ive sunk so many hours in and I havent even felt the need for the DLC's yet

  • Senua's Saga. Beautiful and immersive like the first one, but not much going on otherwise. The middle of the game got really tedious with constant walking, boring puzzles, and very little combat.

Combat feels way more scripted than before too; seems there really is a very finite number of enemies in the game. Not like you can pick and choose.

Also resumed Warhammer 40k Boltgun. Very satisfying and reminds me of the Doom/Quake days.

  • Astro Bot out Friday. Only game I’ve been excited for in a year.

  • Not really a game, but had to get a new monitor for home working and treated myself to a fancy 4k, decent HDR, high Hz etc etc, and I can't believe how much better everything looks on the Series X. (And my work wireframes etc).

  • I wangled a pre release code for Space Marine 2. It's very good and incredible graphics.

  • Any reason to spunk £200 on a Playstation Dualsense Edge?

I need new controller and am considering one (I have won a couple of hundred quid on the PBs over the last few months, so feeling frivolous)

  • They're the only official ps controller with back buttons and you can replace the sticks if they get drift. Not bad if you've got the spare cash but not cheap.

  • If you've mastered claw grip, the paddles become not just irrelevant but useless; if you haven't, there are some games they would enhance.

If it's to be connected to a PS5 then the extra config features look like a list of long-standing "why don't we have this" annoyances, to which the answer turns out to be "We wanedt you to pay extra for that". But then I'm assuming you're not planning to use it connected to a PC, because they're irrelevant there.

  • Yet another zombies survivors game is another just one more run game getting hours...

  • That looks great and only £6 on Steam.

  • Repeating myself from a few weeks back, Dungeon Clawler (free demo on Steam) is great.
I play when I am on pointless Teams calls, so much better than finance talk

  • Remembered this video I’ve watched few weeks back after you mentioning replaceable sticks:

    https://youtu.be/-H4-12ON40Q

  • Yeah it's easy to be cynical about the replaceable sticks. I think there's also an argument that it's a relatively easy way of helping the issue without years of r&d. It's not like any other manufacturer has solved it either. There are currently no hall effect sticks that work on consoles and arguably the Xbox pro controller is an event bigger scam as you can't even replace the sticks. This generations controllers just suck. I've been playing consoles since the NES and I've never had issues like I have with these, I'm on my 3rd Series and 3rd dualsense

  • One of my main gripes about the default PS5 controller is the dreadful battery life. Was hoping that might be one of the improvements to justify the silly asking price, but apparently it's even worse.

  • Speaking of which if I was going to dump some money on a new ps5 controller I'd probably buy a new dualsense then set it off to be modded. https://novagamingcontrollers.com/products/ps5-controller-mod-send-in-service

  • Was thinking of getting one of these when I was looking for a new controller
    Currently £130 from sports direct
    https://www.sportsdirect.com/pdp-victrix-pro-bfg-ps5-controller-398151?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAA-E_GHLKRM9b7QUfVE3K6bPDNAy5r&clickref=1101lzDtiVDD&app_clickref=1101lzDtiVDD&utm_source=partnerize&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=genieshopping#colcode=39815169

Liked the idea of the modules allowing you to swap them out, but not sure they do replacement ones, they do come with a two year warranty though.
I may get one when the controller I got with my pa5 goes on the wonk! But I’m not playing near enough do that curently.

  • Star Trucker seems to be a pretty fun zone out game. A few annoying things that will hopefully be changed in updates as a lot of people saying the same about them online, but it's trucks in space so I'm having fun so far.

  • I've always been wary of third party controllers, they just never seem as good.

I bought a modded official controller a few years ago and it was really good, bought it from Aim Controllers. It was a PS4 controller modded with back-buttons, clicky triggers, longer analogue sticks & grippy stuff on the back - was still working perfectly when I retired from CoD.

Not sure if their offering would be better than the new Sony ones but the customisation is nice.

  • Is it enjoyable to play with the mod? The game looks great and the world looks amazing
but I am a bit of a low effort player now so just want to have a good time and not get
    stuck too much.

  • Recently discovered that they've remastered Dead Rising! And it's out soon!

Up there with my fav games of all time (hopefully not just rose tinted glasses), mega excited, especially after the quality from Capcom of the Resident Evil remarks.

  • Third party PS5 controllers all seem to lack the fancy adaptive triggers. Personally still not convinced whether that's an important feature or gimmick.

  • Decided to have a go over lunch - thought it would be chill, or maybe Star Control-esque . Lol, no. Controls, constant beeping, endless space debris, battery swapping... It's like it was designed to infuriate.

  • Football manager 2024 is now free on the Epic Games launcher store. It's running for 5 days i believe and you keep it forever.

  • Should be 7 days, they do a game or two free each Thursday
