  • Also your frame is nicer than some shitty old aluminium pinarello.

  • Also, thanks for the compliment

  • They probably think they created something super special and they have a lot of followers so there might be someone crazy enough to buy it...

  • I don't think they have to worry about that.

I know YouTube earnings are more complicated now, but two videos with c.100k views each on a channel like that should more or less cover the original bike, right?

On the drilling, I'd might have had different feelings if it was the original paintjob.

  • My thoughts exactly. Plus alu don't rust, but more your point tho

  • 9k for a boggo standard alu frame gash cockpit and tubs! .Jesus wept....tears of laughter in utter disbelief at how easily a fool and his money are parted.

OK it's not his own money and he has carte blanche of shimano catalogue, but still what a dogs dinner. Holy shit indeed at price of top tier groupsets these days, fuck off to them apples.

Definitely doing it wrong. Could have got a better frame and top condition 2nd hand groupset and wheels for a fraction of that outlay, and would look better, likely ride better and not have any tub puncture anxiety. And its orange, get in the sea that man.

  • Don't hold back mate.

I like the frame. And the orange.

I mean tbh it was pretty solid to start with an excellent groupset. Tbh I'd have just put a carbon fork, modern wider wheels and different contact points.

  • This is currently on eBay, I thought the parts would make a great combo, but it's not working for me. What are your views, and ideas for improvements ?

  • What's not working for you, comfort or aesthetics?

  • Silver brakes, cable stops, seatpost and cages - shallow carbon rims on silver hubs, gumwalls and either black tape or white saddle - done

  • Don't hold back mate

Steel fork on an ally frame? Built by a fuckwit.

Can't say exactly why that's wrong, but damn, is it wrong

  • Desticker the wheels, bdhu, burn those bottle cages, fix the saddle angle, black bar tape with black plugs.

  • Do you like these frames?

I've gone off a lot of the fancy Colnago paintjobs, especially the chrome head lugs which I feel are a step too far.

Imo it's cohesive. It's a busy Italian frame. It's not meant to be subtle. Sure you can put black tape on, but why would you on a shiny Colnago?

    I'd probably go:

    • bottle cages
    • black stem
    • plain seatpost (silver or black, not both - altho it mirrors the cranks)
    • silver hubs and spokes, carbon rims
    • silver, black or white bar end plugs
    • white cables
    • photography by spotter
  • No.

You can't go usual all black everything on these fancy chrome lugged retro frames.

Needs Shamal / Vento etc and lots of neon accents.

    The only way.

  • Ok I'll have a go:
    Bdhu
    Flite in correct angle
    King ti cages
    Zipp 202 tubular

That's it, no need to go all out.

  • Nah mate

  • Not the only way, but the best way

  • I'd go with bdhu, white Flite, white pedals, silver brake calipers, silver cages and silver Shamals for full zing, or some silver chorus/record hubs laced to silver rims and tanwall tyres if the Shamals are unobtanium/too spendy.

  • Stem / seat post and crank can't make up their mind.

    Dark photo helps. The exception.

  • same era shamals and bartape/saddle on the opposite side of the color wheel to the main frame color
@Ordinata is right it's the only way

  • I have an old frame with a silver Campagnolo groupset on it.
Has anyone successfully removed logos from the shifters using chemicals of some sort.
I've tried acetone and autosol neither of which had any effect (though they did work on the stem & seat post).

    Shifter

  • Those shifters are sought after, you could sell the silver ones and sand down some black ones?

  • Polishing might be your only option if acetone didn't work, but obviously it'll alter the satin finish

  • As mentioned the silver set is sought after and it would be sacrilege to spoil a good set. Sell them and then sand down a black groupset to get what you want.
