Vibram Cristy wedge is similar to the Redwings white sole. I had my chukkas resoled with Vibram Cristy.
Both the RW and Vibram white sole are soft, so wear quite quickly and are slippery on wet surfaces once worn.
Mine need doing again and i'm contemplating getting a different sole this time.

quite like the look of this:

The Morflex from Vibram is almost the same as the Cristy, but a little lighter and with more grip. I can definitely recommend my Dr Sole though, much more grip than either, no idea about longevity.

Looking for a set of boots for winter. Ideally uk made, and ones that will last.
I like the hebtroco moto boots, but also loake Kirkbys/Niro style. Anybody bought a set and have experience in long term durability/break in time?

Are you looking for suede, black, moc toe and a sort of derby shape?
feels pretty similar to a Clarks low chukka or whatever they're called

Have a look at Padmore & Barnes

Thanks. I'd like exactly the same thing basically, in blue suede.
For some reason I find it hard to search for in any budget! Kind of like desert boots but low on the ankles and with a low profile moc toe yeah.
Padmore & Barnes Willow is pretty close tbh, not quite doing it for me, but the sale price is great

Probably cheaper to buy new?

Some others even cheaper than that

Pretty sure someone on this thread tried to diy desert boots soles and it was a shit show.
Have a search.

I hear you. Seems like a waste though.

equally @withered_preacher (potentially in CA) on the previous page has had a great job done on what I'd assume is similar
I've had 16+ years from a pair of desert trek - just wear them to death -

Some danner boots on tk - they had Yuketens yesterday, Paraboots last week and Aldens the week before, so worth keeping an eye here or in store

I am after exactly this too. Any brands to look out for?
On the topic, I got a pair of these - ish Noble & Wylie shoes in Sheffield a few years back. They feel like pumps. I literally use them to walk inside from my work's bike changing rooms to the office. They perhaps aren't supposed to me but don't feel massively solid. Please excuse the laces, they literally just broke.
