I had contemplated the niche duo but it appeared it wasn’t significantly different to the zero in flavour profile if the internet reviews were true. The Philos by most accounts gives a more typical flat burr separated flavour.
I do get the impression there is nothing to go wrong with the Philos, though the niche zero has been pretty much flawless it’s the longevity of things like the plastic lid and anti popcorn disc that give me cause for concern.

I was going to sell the Zero, but then couldn’t tell the difference between it and the Duo so kept it to try side by side to see if I was going mad, then ended up changing the Duo to the filter burrs when I concluded that I really couldn’t tell the difference between the two for espresso.
I’m hooding that the Philos can do both filter and espresso, and in a way that I can tell a difference to the Niche pair.
All of these grinders use Mazzer burrs however so it’s going to be interesting!
