Fucking Thames Water are still sending us Estimated bills even though the meter was read in April.
They've been sending us estimated bills for something like 10 years, hadn't sent a meter reader or a bill at all for the last 5 years and would appear to have robbed us of quite a bit of money and are continuing to send inflated bills to us, while ignoring the case we have open about them fucking us over.
New kitchen means we removed one of the meters and moved the other one - which we paid for inspections of and now TW are supposed to be moving the remaining meter yet again.
Is there an escalation process I can use with these fuckheads? An ombudsman for water ffs? What has this shithole come to.

You don't carry a tube on tubeless rides usually?
Or was it the spare that you fitted? -

All my recent adverts on Marketplace have stated my town and yet every cunt responding to the ads has asked "Where are you?"

Hi is this still for sale?

Flypaper for the thickest people on earth. I had people demanding to be allowed into my house immediately to collect a telly id advertised. Ignored 90% of them on the basis they didn’t seem to know the word ‘please’. All of Facebook’s AI generated questions are devoid of manners which doesn’t help.

Smashburgers are about two things:
- more surface area gives a better taste as more of the meat is seared
- allows interleaving the (American) cheese into the patty so you get meat/cheese/meat/cheese/meat/cheese/meat
Take a single patty, smash it out into something 4 times as big, sear it, add two slices of plastic cheese, fold in half, add another slice of plastic cheese, fold in half again.
Can't make them at home easily as I don't have a griddle, making them one or two a time in a frying pan just isn't as fun.
Mmm. Trans fats.

Why not have two frying pans on the go to double smash burger production rate?

Should have said "making them one or two a time in (a) frying pan(s)" just isn't as fun.
There are three of us. Two frying pans. One Smashburger per frying pan. Anything else is compromise I'm not willing to accept. I'm not buying a third frying pan just to be able make three Smashburgers at once.
My #40kkitchen will have a griddle.

I've been spoiled by working in commercial kitchens in the distant past. Whilst those kinds of things are OK (*) but you can never get even heat on them if you're using multiple gas hobs underneath in random places.
Consistency and repeatability is key to making food really good.
* I've got a cast iron grill already but it's ridged (for my pleasure) so whilst it's great for steak, chicken, normal burgers, etc it's no use for SmashBurgers.
Anyway, I'd be even lardier if I was able to make SmashBurgers at home so it's probably a good thing that they are very occasional treats that someone else makes (with the right equipment).
A Lorne sausage will really fuck them up.
A Scottish friend brought some square sausage to a Dads camping trip and it was awesome on the BBQ. I'm now craving a sausage bap for lunch and wondering where I can get one from locally...

This. I didn't realise until recently that literally the first question is "is this available?"

Is a Big Mac a smash burger? McDonalds always had thin pattys
-
• #25797
People missing the point in the comments.
You smash it thin and cook it like that, but you fold it back over to serve, so it's just as thick as it would have been if you hadn't smashed it.
You don't serve a 12" diameter burger.
