Completely agree. But it looks good and more critically it does ensure any drivers not paying attention for small hard to see motorcycles have no excuse for not knowing you're there.

I wouldn't have changed out the stock exhaust personally, but it probably did make me buy this bike second hand vs the other stock second hand bikes available at the same price.

I like it, don't get me wrong. I'm more poking fun at the scooter rides that get some random Yoshi can to stick on their scooter that slows the bike down. The silencer fits well.

I like monkeys bikes, ridden an original and a few copies. Part of me fancies a zoomer or a Grom as a fun town bike

Also, as a cyclist, you know how fucking blind car drivers are.

I have a small Yoshi sticker-emblem on my ART can on the CBR600. No idea who was aspirational, but they got a good little sticker. I refuse to remove it.

Nah it was class. Bars were a work of art too.

My insurance policy with RAC requested an estimated annual mileage for the year, to which I entered 999 miles.

At no point in the process or in my documents are the current miles on the odometer of the bike requested.

Seems strange, no?

That states mileage.

Everyone has access to MOT data.

The bike is from 1980 so hasn't had an MOT in years.

They use MOT data AFAIK, extrapolate it in their favour should they need to.

Enquire when the last FULL service was and ask for receipts - not that they ever seem to move, but a valve adjustment is really pricey. Think it's every 16k or so. Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me as they are bombproof and if it runs well, probably is fine. Good to knock the price a bit.

You can check all the bearings on the centre stand (head race, F&R wheel, swingarm.) Look for updated consumables, the rear shock will likely be toast if it's stock. Tyres are bloody expensive and the fronts wear out fast as they're nose heavy.

The reg rec will go sooner or later. I bought two chinese replacements off ebay for 15 bucks, they work fine and you can tuck a spare under the seat. The speedo will start jumping around as a tell on the 3rd gens when they start to go.

Plastics are unobtanium and insanely expensive when they do come up, so knock the price for any cracks / breakages etc.

I still like mine (97) - it's incredibly versatile and a pleasure to ride.

Fyi - if you get it, I would stick a 1/8 spacer on top of the rear shock clevis to slightly raise the rear ride height. It makes the steering much sweeter.

If single side arm and check the rear wheel bearing as it is expensive. No hammer marks on the rear eccentric adjuster, includes the chain adjuster spanner and tool kit.

When the valve clearances last done and if a vtec engine was the vtec clearances done too.
