Was it a recce for the SRMR route or just a tour of nice places organised by/with Nelson? Is he doing tours over there now? I have no interest in racing SRMR but it does look like a stunning place to cycle tour.
Tour organised by Stef for pannier.cc with Nelson doing the 'on the ground' side. He has various plans in the works, will let him announce those when ready.

Not on the bike ride, a glacier heading upto the ratsek hut that sits at 3.3km up. If you like hiking or mountaineering, there is some world class stuff only an hour from Bishkek.

There (presumably) comes a time in every Canyon owners life that a rigid bottom bracket is needed. Desperation to resolve a creak quickly got a little money gun, turns out Wheels Mfg thread together BBs need a prorietary socket tool to torque on. Something realised late in the process, ffs.To all sufferers of creaking press-fit BBs, get the Hope PF41, about the same price with propietary tooling but sits flusher and their tooling won't scratch your frame.
The collection of single use sockets grows.

Back to more fun stuff, the Canyon Endurace is getting some proper use in the French Alps. The infrastructure for cycling here is class in places, literal holes cut in mountains to stay off busy roads.
With the new BB and new 12 speed calipers fitted (to the 11 speed groupset) with new rotors, the bike is quiet for the first time ever.
I'll sit down and cover some highlights soon.

French Alps. Late summer is off season and chalet are cheap. If you have a mate with a car and can split costs and carry the bikes, even better.
Maurienne valley staying in Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis.
Has a fair amount going on ride wise and these are just the popular climbs, many more quiet ones about.Col du Télégraphe

As this is a build thread!
Only thing I'd change on the bike now are the handlebars, would like a bit of flare on the drops. Not comfy when descending and heavy braking. Love the shape of the Zip XPLR on the grvl bike but after flat tops.
Prime Primavera have 122mm drop and 76.5mm reach, measures that I don't want to change.
ENVE SES Aero Road bar are mad money, have a lower 127mm of drop but a nice flare.Any handlebar fanatics know what might be close?
In reality I'll probably stick, what with the internal routing and hydraulics faff.

Dunno if they'll be flat enough for you but the Zipp 80 XPLRs are gently flared with a flattened profile on top, bit of backsweep too which is very comfy.
EDIT: I meant SL70, not the 80s which come in at like £200.

Worth looking at FSA/Vision - loads have 4deg flare (the written size is c-c at the drops so at the hoods its approx 2cm smaller than what you'd think)
Might mean you can get some alloys without spending crazy money - Vision Trimax Aero seems to fit the bill :)

Great suggestions all round. Have the Pro aero vibe persuit and Zip SL70 XPLR on other builds and the FSA options are super interesting but going to park the idea for now. It's too much faff for a few degrees of flare.
And have seen the state of the Farans 650b tyres, it might be time for a change.
650b x 47c was the Arkose max, is it time to max out the new frames tyre real estate?Thinking Mezcal 2.25 or Conti Race King 2.2 (rims are 25mm ID) but might struggle to find mudguards?

I think you’d be brave to run the Mezcal and still except to have mudguard (and derailleur cable) clearance at the chainstays.

Oh really, perhaps a 2.1 Mezcal or 2.0 Race King might be better then? At least for the derailleur cable, don't fancy any guards fitting.

In my experience, a frame with clearance for 650x2.2” knobblies is pretty much 47mm/1.90” max for a knobbly tire+mudguard mainly because even a little dirt or a wheel being out of true will rub the mudguard down to metal. I had that even with 47mm Senderos, which are a Very knobbly 47mm.

In grav sizing, terravail have been a goto but when we start talking in inches, they're twice the price of fast XC tyres, am I missing something?
