Here’s a photo of how mine is set up. The red box is the section you want to be flat/horizontal, or as flat as you can make it with the curve. As that’s what approximates to the flat saddles we’re used to nowadays.
And the yellow line is what I think is approximate to where a flat saddle would sit.
Looking at it the nose isn’t as tipped up as I thought but in practice it is raised a couple of degrees, so you’re not slipping forward off of it, and you can push your arse back into the curved section at the back..
