  • I didn't see the price but that's twice what I expected

  • Stingray straps make me sad

  • Are you referring to the Studio underdog? I think thats just Epsom Calfskin

  • 59k Swiss francs I thought, which is closer to £55k than £65k, unless I'm ignoring a likely VAT hit

  • Mad! Seems like a sound guy.

  • The green nubbin seems incongruous

  • It's time to say good morning

  • Happy Friday. It looks like this is staying so I may as well wear it.

  • Garden attacking in a rare bit of sun. Unfortunately the watch may be a bit broken. If you shake it you can hear something spinning / moving quite loudly and I don’t think the automatic bit is self -winding. Expensive fix? I just leave this one in Ireland so it’s a bit of a beater.

  • Automatic means self-winding. I think it's an STP clone of an ETA 2824 and the rotor on them is quite noisy, apparently.

Has it always been like that?

  • Not that I recall but I use it quite infrequently. I’ll have to pay proper attention to it for the next few days, but the other day it had stopped whilst I had been wearing it for a couple of days which I don’t recall it doing before.

  • Ok, that doesn't sound right. Might need looking at. Possibly a new movement, unfortunately

  • Lovely! Is it a vintage military issued Hamilton? Incredible condition if so. Wish they made the modern versions in smaller sizes (<36mm)

  • Thanks, bit of a pain re possible new movement but I’ll test it for a few days to see how it goes.

  • Sporting this Seiko Solar today.

  • If it is broken it's a shame as that's a lovely watch. Should get it seen too

  • Didn’t suppose I need a yachtmaster on the little sailboat.

  • Impulse purchase on a friend's stag do, rather pleased with it (& the fact it isn't another Seiko).

Edit: not a slight on Seiko - love them - but I could end up only Seikos if I didn't try & cast my net a bit wider.

  • like that, dead interesting, (did I just say that about a watch!! yep..)

  • Hi, quick Q someone who doesn’t know much about watches — recently bought a used Citizen Eco-Drive BM8550-14A for my son and the day window has both German and English but w odd logic. We think Ger between 01-03 at night. Is this a thing or a broken watch? Thanks!
