Us postal rep Trek

Ok,
I’ve got the urge to build a blue USPS rep Trek but don’t know what donor bike to use. Ever since I saw the Fatcreations Saeco Cipollini rep I’ve thought about taking a newish frame and Neo retro ing it.
I’ve just bagged a Trek Madone 5500 with full Dura Ace etc but if I strip it down and paint it will I be able to live with myself. Or do I buy a Madone Sl6 for £200 to scratch the itch…?

I would repaint this Trek from the picture that you already have. Unless this is already the right saddle height for you, then I would try to find a smaller one.

Hi,
I’ve not tried the bike yet but I’m fairly sure I’ll need to lift the saddle as the owner was a couple of inches shorter.
I suppose if it goes terribly wrong it’s not an expensive mistake.
