J’adore that Geoff Butler. Also now I can’t decide whether to caustic soda my old cranks or rig up the elaborate (but scientific) de-anodising thing that @Hulsroy did a while ago.
Caustic soda would certainly be cheaper and easier, the adapter only needed a few seconds in a fairly dilute solution for the anodising to come off. I'd perhaps be careful if any parts of the crank are bonded together though, what are they?
