Super interested to know if this is an option with any providers. Combined worth of bikes insured gets expensive fast and seems uneconomical if I'm usually just riding and locking the fixie around town but happen to have one or two others I ride occasionally which I'd also want protected..

I didn't investigate much or I don't remember, bit the bullet and renewed with YJ.

Laka are now charging extra for race/travel coverage. Applies to all bikes rather than just the one you race/travel with so has put my premium up a fair bit. They’re also changing terms to require receipts & only cover claims that impede primary function (whatever that means). Anyone got a decent alternative?

Yeah the main benefits to Laka they seem to be getting rid of. I'm tempted by Sunday's no experience of them but cheaper than laka is now (before this planned increase).

Thanks for the Laka code!

Interesting but not suprised, when asked why I downgraded to the lower tier cover, I said I was fed up paying a big premium for bros wanting to crit race their dream bikes at Spillingdon...

lol I hear you; I’d be intrigued to know what percent of their claims come from racing. I’d have thought it would actually be pretty low but obviously not if they’ve implemented this.

I've asked LAKA for a temporal cover on my annual cycling tour in italy in August:
Yes, you can activate the Racing and Worldwide add-on at anytime and it will remain active until you remove it. Please note, there will be a 30 day lock in period after activating but after this you can remove it at anytime.
FYI: it costs me up to 14£ on top my current plan.
Hope it helps.

Congrats on the 2% saving
My premium dropped by 2% for the removal of the travel/race cover, then went up by ~25% to add it back on
-
• #1161
Ah great, just had to switch it on and it’ll add up to £31 something. The monthly saving was £2 something

Congrats on the 2% saving
Closer to 60% but as noted above, can toggle to full cover when needed, if the main gripe is full cover for occasional travel.
But sounds like I need to login and check my terms..

30% for crashing in April but not broken down.
Most people I know would quickly swap back to the traditional parts bin build for crit racing if their £5k+ bikes weren't covered..

This is where I got the 2% saving from the removal of racing/travel and 25% add on from, sounds like the 60% saving was from reducing the cover. The additional cap has since gone up to £31 between 17th May and now. No change in bikes covered
Guess either the crit bros crashing weren’t really affecting your fee or they were and Laka just isn’t passing any of the savings on

Tangentally insurance related:
If anyone wants/needs a 25% discount on the BikeFinder GPS subscription, here's my referral code:
CRP2523FDC06380disclaimer: both parties get a 25% discount, I'll be renewing anyway as I'm pretty happy with it.

Just joined up to Laka using someone's code, I don't remember who, sorry!
Here's mine to keep it going:

Thanks Phil, just used your code.
Was super easy and they've insured my mountain bike in a garage for a very competitive price. Much better than the dodgy home insurance add on's which you know they will try and wriggle out of.
Here's my code for the next one up!

Best insurance to insure my bike for one month so it's insured in case it's damaged during transit on a flight or while cycling on holiday?
I just used the code above. Here's another:
